Decline an ITA, expecting a baby

Hi guys, we received our ITA in June.

My wife is pregnant(6 months) and we realized this may not be the best time for us to apply for PR. Mainly because we won’t be able to do a soft landing before December 2019 (to activate the PR). Should we just decline the ITA or let it expire and apply again in December?

I know you get a year from your medical exam date to activate the PR. In my wife’s case, I believe she won’t be able to do any of th x-rays and may have to wait till she gives birth for a full exam. Does that mean we can still complete the application before the deadline in Aug 22 but schedule the medical exam after she gives birth? Again, I willingly want to delay my soft entry validity to atleast dec 2019z

Anyone here been in a similar position? Any words of advise for us? Thank you!

She is the primary applicant if that makes any difference.

Thank you, that thread is very helpful!

Although I am still trying to figure how how long does the validity to land and make a soft landing last until.. Is it the date of the initial exam or the day of the final x rays.
Your medicals won't be processed until you submit the xrays. If you're worried about a short notice to land it'a unlikely
