Hello fellow applicants!

I am not sure what to do with this DECLARATION part found in guide 3902e Country Specific Instructions/Eastern Europe:

DECLARATION

I, the undersigned, _____________________________________________________________________
understand and accept that if I am admitted to Canada as a permanent resident, this will not oblige the Government of Canada to grant admission to my spouse or my children whose names appear below: ____________________________________________________________________________________
____________________________________________________________________________________
____________________________________________________________________________________
unless they satisfy all the requirements of the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations in effect at that time. If this condition is not fully satisfied, I understand and accept that this may result in a permanent separation from my spouse and children.
Declared at ____________________________________ on ___________________________
Signature: _____________________________________
N.B.: This declaration must be witnessed either by a Notary Public.

Why would my husband sign this if I am sponsoring him and I and our child are Canadian citizens??? We already are granted admission since we have citizenship!

Thank you so much if you could help out with this question! :-*

hey :)
according to the guide, those declarations apply..
ONLY IF YOU ARE APPLYING IN MOSCOW OR IF YOU ARE A RESIDENT OF A FORMER USSR STATE
Romania's not a former USSR state.

i haven't done them either. you wouldn't need them anyway, that second declaration in the guide applies only if you're separated from the father of the child - in that case HE needs to authorise you to take the child with you in Canada.

eitherway, doesn't matter, those declarations do not apply to us.

If I am not mistaken that form should be filled in by an ex husband, granting a child from a previous marriage the right to live with his/her mother in Canada.

you're right Andie but the guide specifies that this declaration needs to be filled out only by inhabitans from former USSR states, so it doesn't apply to all of us anyway :)

Really? When we applied it was something that needed to be filled in. My oldest daughter is a child from a previous marriage and I am pretty sure without that consent our file wouldn't have gone forward. In the notes we received they have checked that form was filled in and in our file.

this is the guide: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3902e.pdf
and it says:

OTHER DOCUMENTS - ONLY IF YOU ARE APPLYING IN MOSCOW OR IF YOU ARE A
RESIDENT OF A FORMER USSR STATE

Labour record
...
Proof of studies
...
Separation statement
If you have children under 22 years of age who will not accompany you to Canada, you must
provide an original notarized separation statement (see end of Appendix A). This form will not be
returned to you.
Consent for Immigration
If you have children under 18 years of age who will accompany you to Canada, you must submit
an original notarized consent form (see end of Appendix A) signed by the other parent allowing
your children to immigrate with you. This document will not be returned to you.

- those consent forms are those declarations that you are mentioning at the end of appendix A (that are also translated into Russian) .. so based on the guide, this isn't necessary. i'm sure the consent is needed from the father of the child so that you can take your daughter with you, i am just talking about those declarations in English & Russian from the guide.

have no idea, maybe i'm mistaking, my argument was strictly based on what's written in the guide.
