LANDED..........

My wife will be immigrating very soon and will land by air. I am wondering about how she will fill out the Declaration Card on the flight.

Is she a visitor because she will not become a resident until a couple of hours after the plane lands?
If a visitor it asks how many days she will be visiting so should she put down 365, 730 or what number?
Is her home address her Chinese address that she just left from or is it her new Canadian address which is of course my address?

Is she landing for good? Then she's a resident. Her address is her address in Canada.

Yes this is her landing for permanent residence. So as a resident the card asks the date she left Canada but she has never been in Canada.

Smooth sailing:

Did your spouse get her passport back from the Beijing VAC? How long did it take?

Thx

Wrong thread to ask, but it took 3 weeks.

Now that this thread has been bumped up again, I am still wondering what date my wife should put for when she left Canada in the Resident section as she has never even been in Canada yet.

I don't think it matters. As soon as the border agents find out she is landing, she will be taken to a different area to land. In fact she should maybe just tell someone before she waits in line that she is landing. Maybe someone who has recently landed can tell us what exactly they did when they got to Customs.
