Hi, I checked Ecas website it’s now says
“Decision made” for my wife application & Mycic gckey says:
“We are processing your background check”

How long does the background check take ?

will they request passport for visa stamp after background check is finished?

Actually, GCKEY tends to lag behind with updates in ECAS (and sometimes vice versa).

You should get an email soon with a request for either the applicant's passport or a photocopy of the picture page in the passport if the applicant is from a visa-exempt country.
