So I checked online and it now says decision made, but I have not received anything for an answer. My updates look like this which I have no idea what they mean, but I have sent the Ottawa VO everything:

  1. We received your application for permanent residence on November 4, 2016.
  2. We started processing your application on January 10, 2017.
  3. We sent you correspondence on February 21, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
  4. We sent you correspondence on March 14, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
  5. We sent you correspondence on May 5, 2017. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.
  6. Medical results have been received.

Does anyone know when I'm supposed to be able to hear from them about what their decision is? Also I sent them my background fingerprints results, should I be worried it isn't listed in the things they have gotten (like the med results) or would that just be classified under them sending me correspondence? (or it's just that they didn't list it?)

No, they don't list PCC received. You'll hear from them tomorrow, Monday or any time within the week. Also check your spam. If you're lucky, you might hear from them today, Sunday. Ottawa, right? Most probably, a positive decision if you've provided all the documents they needed. Congrats!

Congrats! You'll hear from them soon as it doesn't always update right away. Some receive a decision made email days after. A landing interview even up to a month after

Do you know what happens after the landing interview? I read on here people have been mailing passports which I haven't been asked to do yet. Was I already supposed to be asked for the passport?

If you applied inland spousal sponsorship, you are not asked to provide your passport. The landing interview is where they ask you a few questions and congratule you on becoming a PR. You receive a COPR. Confirmation of Permanent Residence receipt in which they tell you keep forever. Some get a new sin the same day and your PR card arrives within a month or two after.

I applied Outland, so should I have been asked to send my passport?

Do they only ask for mailed passports if you live in a country where visas are required to enter Canada? I am from the United States, whicj doesn't require a visa. Will I still get asked to mail my passport?

I'm curious about this as well!

My understanding is that they request a copy of your passport (bio page only) if you're visa exempt.

No. But you will be asked to submit a copy of the passport along with other PPR docs.
