I just saw on my application status: decision made

Oh my good, I don`t know what that means. They didn`t send me an email or anything. Is that a bad sign. Before they always contacted me by email.

Does anybody know what that means?

Which visa office is this coming from?
Also, are you holding a passport that is visa-exempt? For instance, when US applicants get the "Decision Made" status, their COPR is mailed to their address.

I don't think they contact anyone by email regarding the Decision Made. Usually, Decision Made means they are mailing you your COPR or refusal letter.

I wish they'd at least say on Ecas if it's yes or No. Would have saved me tons of worrying and sleepless nights. The details and paperwork they can mail, fine, but I think it wouldn't hurt them to at least say on Ecas what the decision is.

Its the Ottawa office. But I am Austrian, don`t know why they send it to Ottawa instead of Vienna.
They never asked for my passport or anything, but as I am austrian I don`t need a visa.
So you think they will send a letter to me by post? That is hard, because post from canada to austria will take ages :)
I hate this process, I should be excited right now because they processed my application so fast, but instead I am worried now.

It seems like a lot of straightforward easy applications are now going to Ottawa for faster processing.

They never asked for my passport (or even a copy) either, and everyone going through Manila (my VO) is asked to fill out Appendix A but they never asked that either... they just sent me my COPR.

I was worried too, it seemed like they processed me too fast! But if your application went to Ottawa, it's probably because it was a straightforward one. In that case, it's probably a positive decision!

Try not to stress.... if possible ;)

yes, ottawa usually sends the COPR by regular mail, so be on the lookout for a brown envelope from CIC. If you did not have an interview, then you can expect your COPR. If you are visa exempt, more likely than not your PPR was waived. This is common practice for the Ottawa visa office.

Thank you so much, I really feel better now. I just expected them to send me an email or ask for my passport. I was allready worried that they send my application to Ottawa and I never expected them to make a desicion so fast, but i guess it is not a bad sign. Well, as with the whole process, I can do nothing except wait and see what their decision is......grrrr

Yes I am visa exempt, I was never asked for my passport and I was never asked for an interview. They asked for more prove of my intentions to move to canada, I mailed it a couple of weeks ago and never heard anything again from them.
That leads to another question....lets say the decision is positive, I never expected them to be so fast. Would it be a problem to fly to canada just to land there but then go back to austria for a couple of month to finish my work and everything here?

again, if there was no interview, then the likely hood the decision is negative is very low. this is how ottawa works.

yes it's ok to land in canada then go back home to finalize everything. you will see your COPR has an expiration date, so as long as you land by that date you are fine. Also, you will need to give a canadian address at landing for your PR card. As you are visa exempt, you can travel freely with just your passport and COPR, you should have no issue traveling once you land.

Can I ask what it said on your Ecas site before it said "Decision Made"? Did it ever change from "Application Received"? I'm curious! :)

Congrats by the way!

Hey that's great news for you! I think my application is similar to yours, it was sent to Ottawa instead of London and they also asked for more proof of intent to return to Canada from me, the sponsor, and they received that by post last week, so that's really good to hear yours has been processed quickly :) Can ask when you're application was first received at Mississauga and when you got sponsorship approval?

They recieved my application beginning of June (I think it was on the 9th) and we got sponsorship approval august 1st. Beginning of september they asked for proof about our intent to move to Canada. I was pretty busy so I mailed it at the beginning of October and they recieved it on October 19th. On october 24th I saw that the status had changed to 'in progress' and than yesterday 'decision made'.
