Decision Made (YAY!....Now what?)

Good morning mighty fine forum fellows,

This morning ECAS showed me the much anticipated "Decision made" on my file, with the notification that the Visa Office would contact me regarding the decision...which they haven't....yet.

So what is to be expected next?

Is it safe to assume the Decision is a positive one? (Application received in June, AOR in August, In Process Jan 3rd, Medicals received March 15th)

I called CIC here in Ottawa and they are a bunch of buffoons, because his reply was that it could take up to 10 months before i would get a notification...(Sigh)

Does Vienna (or any VO) always send out an e-mail to tell you when the COPR has been sent out?
Also, do you need to wait for that paper to arrive before you can flagpole, or will Border Patrol have the information in their system as well?

My current Visa expires in a week and i would prefer not having to apply for a work visa just to cover a week or two.

Any "post- Decision Made" advice would be welcome.

McDutch it's time for celebrations. DM means Passport with visa is on the way....It usually depends on ur local mail delivery times. Cheers...!!!

I'm already there on a Working Visa (That expires next week) so i'll flagpole as soon as i get the papers in!

Note that you MUST have your COPR papers in-hand when you land... so no flag-polling early before you get the mail delivery.

Hopefully Vienna VO has your current Canadian address on record, and you can expect the COPRs to arrive anywhere from 2-3 weeks on average.

I am in the decision made stage too with my boyfriend. What does COPR mean? How long did it take you to recieve that info after they told you the decision was made?

COPR means the Certificate of Permanent Residency (I think)

or maybe the C is for "Confirmation"

They send it out through registered mail, so it's up to the mail service to see when it arrives.

Send your VO an e-mail to see when they sent it out

Ohhh I see. Which mailing address is it supposed to go to? The principal applicant or the sponsor? We don't have that on our application yet but hopefully soon!

can you tell me how long it took to get the copr from vienna? I mean how long was the letter on the way?
where in canada are you?

my copr was send out may23rd and I hope I get it on June 6th. you think it's possible? I am in Vancouver.
