yay! thats great news!!
now you dont even have to worry about the mail they say they are "apparently' sending.

your file should be transfered to your visa office now and starting step 2.

good luck! :)

o okay so quebec they need to send something out via regular mail than, i think most other provinces just send the approval via email, as of what I have seen so far.

oh yes haha we are almost done our process.
the very last thing they ask for in Mexico is PGR police check and we are waiting for that letter to come this week. than that will be our last step. :D finallly! time feels like its going so slowly.

Thanks!! yes it will be my husband that will get his visa soon :)

When I just spoke to the CIC they said I will still get a letter in mail. They mentioned anywhere from 5-7 business days.

My wife lives in Ohio, where will the processing go for step 2? Buffalo is now closed.

i think ottawa takes over cases that were suppose to go to buffalo
but im not 100% sure!
maybe someone else can give you a definate answer.

CPP-Ottawa is handling US applicants now. They might transfer to one of the other offices if there is an overflow: Detroit, Seattle, L.A.

Charlie D.

are all US applicants sent to buffalo (not ottawa) and only sent to detroit seattle la if there is to many.
or are they ever just sent to LA initially..
or is la, detroit and seattle centers for processing others things like student visas and stuff?

im just curious i never really understood the purpose of all those offices.

Applications are not sent to Detroit, Seattle or L.A. initially, no. They are only transferred there if Buffalo (or, as it is now, Ottawa) is experiencing an overflow of cases.

Remember that these consular offices also offer services to Canadians in these cities, that is why they exist. They are not full visa-processing offices like Buffalo directly was, that is why they only picked up slack when Buffalo needed assistance.

o okay. so if buffalo doesnt have an over flow. do they use the offices for anything else or not really?

As I said, they provide consular services to Canadians in the US.

Still waiting on the letter from the CIC. How long does the letter take? According to the CIC site they mailed the letter Aug 21.
I did call them and told I was approved, but I would still be getting a letter.

Also is it just a letter or do you get a whole package back?
