Hello Guys,

If there is a decision made in ecas, does that mean that the citizenship application has been transferred to the citizenship court? At what point we would know a case is transferred to the court?

Decision made means that either the application has been approved or rejected.

Thanks.. is it possible, based on the previous applications, that CIC reject the application (for the case in which an applicant passed test, fulfilled the residency requirements, submitted all the additional documents requested) without referring it to the citizenship court?

If it was referred to the court and awating hearing the status would show "In Process" in e-cas. If it was gone to the court and you attended the hearing with the judge and if it was either accepted or rejected, it will show "Decision Made"

I am not too sure if the application can just be rejected without going through the court.

Thank you both for the replies. This case is of my sister (somehow I smell being discriminated).

She attended English classes till level 5 and has a hearing problem (which was declared in her application in the cover letter). Upon passing the citizenship test, she was interviewed where she asked to repeat the question (on multiple occasions due to her hearing problem). After the interview, she was told that they were not satisfied (reason was not explained to her) and asked her to attend more English classes. Then we wrote them a letter asking reason(s) for asking to sit on English classes, they replied with a letter, asking her to come to their office for another interview. Last week, she went to the CIC office (Scarborough) for an interview, where the interviewee told her that they are not satisfied (satisfied?? no explanation) and asked sit on English class for next 4-5 months until they contact. However, since two days her ecas has changed to "decision made".

At this point I can't say what will happen. May be they have sent you a oath letter (check e-cas regularly for next several days to see an update) and also check your physical mailbox/email to see what their response is.
Let's hope it is not a rejection.

My sister's ecas says that her application has been approved and there will be citizenship oath ceremony in February.

Thanks all for your valuable inputs.
