Hi forum,
Just wanted to start out thanking everyone who has posted here. I've been going through the process to sponsor my spouse inside Canada and this forum has had some GREAT information that has helped us a lot.

We started the application in June 2013, and we received an email late October 2014 stating Decision Made on the application and that CIC would be contacting us soon. I read on a post here or another forum that someone had waited nearly 3 months in the Decision Made stage before they were contacted, so we've been trying to be patient. We've been expecting either a phone call or letter for us to come in since then, but now we are getting close to the work permit running out in early February.

Does she need to apply for a work permit extension while we are waiting for the Decision Made process?
It's been at least 2 months waiting for some form of communication, and it's been impossible to contact CIC on the phone to ask about.

Ok this is kind of creepy, but we JUST got the email about the scheduled interview this morning. About 20min before I wrote this post.

Interview for end of January. So wish us luck!

It doesn't matter if your work permit expires. You have "implied status" unless it is IEC and PGWP, assuming you submitted an OWP application with your PR application.

Congrats on getting your landing letter.

You have decision made but still need to interview?
I thought when they made decision it meant good things.
Grrrr
Will they tell you if the interview is waived?
When you finish the interview do you immediately get approved or denied?

when you apply inland, you are called in for a landing interview. its not bad news, but just the way landing is done for inland applications instead of going to a border :)

Thank you for clearing that up!
Hubby and I had a little panic last night thinking since we haven't been told anything since SA that we would have to interview (even though our app should be super clear cut since we've been living together 2 years) and for us that would be LA and we are living in Texas (huge travel cost) then move to Canada (MAJORLY huge cost) and we are beyond antsy to get moved so thinking it could still have another long delay was scary.
We are thinking we should hear something this month. Hoping to move in March.
