Hi everyone. I've never had to post because everyone has been so helpful, but now we have a quandary.

I am sponsoring my American husband. We submitted our application September 1st 2015, my sponsorship was approved and his application began being processed November 3rd 2015.
On February 23rd, 2916 his PR application status changed to 'Decision Made' but there was no info on of a letter or email was sent to him. We emailed Ottawa to ask when we can expect information (after the person on the phone said the decision would be communicated via email) and the email stated that 'documents were returned to you via mail on February 29th, 2016'. We know we submitted everything including fees and I haven't received any mail either with a refund of the PR fee. From what we understand, CIC would have contacted us if there was not enough proof of our relationship, and it's been an awful lot time if we're just missing a document (which I am so certain we did not).
Basically, we're anxious and wondering if this language is normal? I know CIC sometimes returns original documents such as photos and marriage licenses - could this be it? They did not, however, say that they sent the letter with the decision...
Looking at the timeline other Canadian-American couples are experiencing right now we're on target for an approval now...
Having trouble being patient for things to come in the mail! Any experiences or info anyone has would be GREAT.
Thank you!

What that SHOULD mean is that your will be receiving his COPR at any time now. Make sure someone attends to the mail regularly as they only send them via standard mail. It will likely also include any original documents that you sent in for the application process.

Hello. We are on the same overall timeline and I received an email from CIC with pretty much the same language. It confused us a little, but we didn't worry too much.

Yesterday we received CoPR in the mail. No application documents, just the good news letter we were hoping for. Hope that helps!

Nothing to worry about. CIC gets their form letters mixed up all the time, or you just received a generic letter that covers all their bases. Once, CIC sent letters with inland interview dates to FSW applicants who weren't in the country and didn't have visas. People were freaking out.

Send a case specific enquiry.

Just try calling them, once we saw DM and called a few days later they told us that COPR was on the way. "Documents returned" sounds very misleading though, I wonder why would they use such language...

No worries! Think it's rather generic! I received same notice in email after requesting about my decision made. This is their response to me then next day received my COPR approved.
