Hello friends,
With the hope that i will definately get some solution to my problems i am writing this thread. I have completed my 2 year diploma in ON and currently on open work permit. I am confused if i should move to some other province like alberta or stay in ON for pr??????

Hopefully in april 2014 i will be promoted to assistant manager in the convinient store in ON, will that be better to apply pr under cec??? OR move to alberta and apply under some category there as AINP??

You don't qualify for CEC if you are working at a convenience store - even if you are promoted to assistant manager.

If you want to be able to apply for your PR under CEC, you need a job that is without a doubt a skilled job and you need to do that full time for a year before you can apply. Assistant manager of a convenience store may fall under this NOC: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/ProfileKeyword.aspx?val=6&val1=6211&val11=assistant manager&val12=0&val13=0&val14=&val15=0&val16=0 which is a skilled position.

You could go to another province and see if you can apply under PNP as a graduate etc. which usually involves working in the province for x hours. If you go to Saskatchewan, see http://www.saskimmigrationcanada.ca/student you would not have to have a skilled job to apply under PNP but you would have to work for a year before you could apply because you did not study in SK.

Hello,
Thank you for the reply scylla and Leon... As scylla said I wont be qualified under skilled category if I am an asst manager, are u talking about supervisor (I know as per new cec list retail supervisor is ineligible) or asst manager (no where its mentioned that asst manager is supervisor or the code for asst manager). this is the only reason i am confused. does this fall under 0 category, if not then what category will it be?? Please help.
Thank you
(as the duties are concerned, in my store asst does all the duties of manager in his absence)

Yes, apparently CEC has disqualified certain NOCs, among them is 6211 so that is bad luck for you. In that case, your only chance wit this job is if it might fall under 0621, see http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2011/Profile.aspx?val=0&val1=0621

If you are doing a skilled job in AB, you have a chance to apply under AINP, see http://www.albertacanada.com/immigration/immigrating/ainp-eds-skilled-worker-criteria.aspx

If you apply under AINP, first you have to fulfill AINP requirements and get your nomination. Then you have to apply for your PR based on the nomination and you may still be refused if you don't clear CIC background checks and medicals.

There are no special benefits to getting PR under AINP vs. getting PR through different means but of course applying for AINP may be the only resort for people who do not qualify under any other immigration class. There are a couple of extra requirements for AINP. You must intend to settle in AB, at least when you apply and when you land as a PR although nobody will stop you from moving to another province later on and if you apply through employer driven stream, you must stay with your sponsoring employer until you get your PR or you would risk your application.

You can see the processing times for PR under PNP here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/provincial.asp listed by visa office. The processing time for the AINP nomination is not included in that and could be a few months as well. You would have to ask AINP about their current processing times for the nomination.
