Hi all,

So I finally received a call from OINP yesterday to interview me and let me know that I would be receiving an email requesting additional documentation. Shortly after the call and as promised, I received an email requesting additional documentation signed AB.

I have been asked to provide 6 months statements from the account in which my settlement funds are kept, which I have. However, I have been asked to explain and provide evidence of a large sum of money which I received from my father.

The thing is that my family holds a investment account with a private company that plays stocks on our behalf, but the account is in my fathers name. When funds are drawn from this investment, they automatically get put into my father's current account. I requested the funds which were then put into my father's current account which he ultimately transferred to my savings account.

My question is this - which of the following 2 options would be better for me to use? Which option would be safer and more of a sure thing going forward?

  • I get a letter from the company who are managing our family's investment as well as a letter from my father confirming that the money is mine and the process it went through to get to my account
  • I simply get my father to write and sign a gift deed and just say that he gifted me the money

Any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I called in OINP yesterday and spoke with the operator.

He said no additional documents will be asked and file is pending with senior officer for decision. Senior officer has heavy workload currently. And I should hear back from them within 2 weeks.

App received Date : Dec 28 2015
Decision Phase email Date : May 11 2016

I had the same when I called and in 2 weeks they processed it!! So Just hold in there for 2 more weeks and if you have not heard again give another call.

Thanks for the advice @bestofluck and @maged_mmh.

I think I will go the gift deed route, hopefully it will all work out.

I was trying to create a new profile and noticed that the old profile has a change. The minimum entry Criteria has changed to "NOT MET" now. I just received Nomination this morning and was creating a new profile now.

I am hoping this Is not bad news because when I try to create a profile it says "Eligible for Express entry"

Can someone please advice ??

Do you have any ideia why it changed to NOT MET? It's probably just a glitch, but you may need to open a support case.

Now, I don't understand how you're creating a new profile and your old one changed... Did you not wait for it to expire before creating a new profile?

ECA request is still a pre-processing request..i.e. the email sent to you is generic and still does not have an officer's name or initials on it.. my thoughts about that since already about the last 10 days of December applicants have been getting this request from 3rd Oct till now (including myself on the 12th), The ECA request is asked in general for all applicants as a step towards getting their applications assigned to officers..so we should all relax and wait.. the upcoming two weeks are our turn (15th Dec till 30th Dec applicants in general except for some applicants we had already sent their ECA or got nominated earlier)

Yeah i guess you are right because there is still no initials between brackets for my file number ! Then lets see what will happen. I sent the ECA and sent them an email proofing that it was processed but didn't get any feedback from their end.

the next weeks will be long days of waiting till we here sth positive :)

I guess there are only few of us waiting since October 2015.

DigitalDestiny, Maged:

Both of you should be ready for direct NoM :) :)
Your application, docs I believe are in perfect order.

OINP might only ask for latest PoF, as it's 6 months old.

I looked at all my docs critically as a Investigator/Analyst!!! I will ask for PoF!!! :D ;D
Wishful thought
s!!!

I called OINP and asked about the status of my application. The lady said It's at the second stage of processing.
Could anyone tell Which is this stage? How many more stages are there and how much more time it will take?
Thank You

I think only PatniKrishna and me in dec thread , who is not receiving any mail or call communication for anything..
Am i right patniKrishna ?

Yesterday I had got the profile ineligible after receiving nomination. I checked some of the other pages and its is common . OINP transfers the points to new valid profiles
I created a new profile and it was eligible so sent the details to OINP along with a letter requesting to transfer the nomination to the new profile.

A couple of hours ago I got an email with subject "NLA XHSW-******* E******* (officer Intials). The email said that the profile Is no longer available for nomination .They asked me to confirm that I did not receive any ITA and nomination from another province.

I did that just now and sent the details of my new account .

Hoping they link it .

Just wanted to check if anyone has gone through something similar.

P.S. Thank you Rajkamal and BestofLuck for prompt responses .
