December Application OINP

Hey Guys! Happy to report I rec'd AOR today! However, they are claiming that my Cheque had expired, when after consulting with my banker they told me that it doesn't expire. The cash was already removed from my account so it doesn't expire. CIC has requested to send a replacement cheque in order to continue processing. Has this happened to anyone? If so, what did you do next? I will send a new cheque but I am just puzzled that CIC is saying that it has expired and my bank is saying it hasn't. Soo..
But for reference, here are my details:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Thank you very much for your application to the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.
Your application was received in our office and it has been deemed complete. However, it has come to our attention that the original cheque number: **** in the amount of CDN $1,500 attached to your application for fee payment is out of date. As a result, we are unable to process your payment.

We require you to please provide a replacement cheque, made out to the “Ontario Minister of Finance”, as soon as possible. When you submit your new payment, please ensure you provide your name and quote your file number as it appears on the Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) that you received by email. (Please see attached)

In order for us to return your original fee payment, please confirm your mailing address by way of return email.

Please note that the processing of your application will be on hold until payment is received.

We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause and look forward to receiving the replacement fee as soon as possible.

I just received my AOR a few minutes ago!
My application was received Dec 18

It made my weekend!

Hi

Can anyone please help if I should be informing OINP for personal info change if work permit is expiring ? They are already aware about it as I have emailed and called them so many times, In AOR it says ., if you are unable to maintain legal status and have to leave country please update. I am not moving anywhere though as I will be on implied status. Just need suggestions to be on the safe side.

If you are implied status no, but you need to update them as soon as you get your new visa/status. Just send them a copy of the new visa.

@kimkim2015 Congrats for the AOR.

We were hoping that Ontario would at least be smart enough to encash fee drafts of dec. applicants but unfortunately OINP proved us wrong. The expiry of bank cheque/draft will hit lot many of us now.

If OINP wants a new Banker's cheque, you will have to provide them the same - there is no other option. You can get a new cheque made and courier it to OINP, in the mean time email them for the refund of your old cheque. Once you receive your old cheque, submit it to your bank for cancellation. They will cancel it and refund your money but after a big cut thanks to bank fees and currency conversion charges.

@kimkim2015. sorry to know you have to send new DD now. But the good part is they gave you AOR, so its just a matter of time now a 15 days delay for nomination. This is going to happen with many of us now. Guys be prepared to send new DD now.

50 out of 103 applicants in the forum recd AOR. still not half the way !!!!!!!

First time in the OINP process, someone got a message to resend a DD because it was out of date !! Its good they ask for another DD after giving AOR. It is just a few days more in getting nomination, which I think they will cover up later on.

Thanks to all that i've kept this forum alive. I've decided to share the good news because of the encouragement from this forum.

I got my AOR yesterday as well though my DD has also expired so i'm required to resend a new one.

Application reached on 17th Dec.
