Hello, wondering if anyone can help. I am a Dec 2020 PR applicant. I have a visa to travel to Canada that expires March 2022. My passport expires July 2022. I can renew my passport 1 year before it expires which is July 2021. Can I travel using the new passport with the visa being in the old one? Also if I apply for an extension while in Canada do I have to leave once my visa expires? Or does the implied status continues beyond the visa expiration.

Mine has been in process since April 21. I suspect it will be a long wait yet.
The ones I have seen that are completed quickly are the ones that have decision made about a week after they go in to process for the PA.
Alhamdulillah... I got my Csq approval yesterday on 18th may...now waiting for medical request..i think i have a long wait ahead..

PA : Swiss citizen living in Ireland. Sponsor : Canadian citizen.
In our case, I (sponsor) have received DM for both myself as well as my PA.
My PA DM arrived over a month ago (Apr 15th). Yet to receive any further correspondence. I had called up IRCC on May 5th to understand it a little better as we have received PA DM as well as Pre-Arrival since over a month now. The agent told me that the file was processed in Ottawa (did not have a VO in my original Sponsor DM) but didn’t confirm whether my PA was approved or not (I guess they need to be objective as the decision is captured in the actual letter). They said that I need to wait for the next steps which shall be detailed within the letter. I don’t expect any surprises at this point however given some other threads in this site it appears there’s no fixed timeline from sponsor DM to request for passport. Can only hope for best now.

Are you both outland? Did you get ADR for intent to return? Wow, you application seems fast!
yes, if they have strong doubt, they will call you liar. If concern is only minor issue, u just need to not mess up interrogation.
In any case I am 100% sure they decide outcome well before the interview. so if u have minor issue they will question u and try to find more inconsistencies so they can refuse you. If you survive interrogation, they will give u visa.
The only ppl who dont get interrogated are those with zero issues and just brought for quality control
