A quick question. My Kid's birth certificate is in my regional Indian language as well as in English for each column of the certificate. Do I still need to translate this certificate (or) can I send this as is (because it has English for each column)?

Any document having English along with your regional language should be fine without translation as long as it was an original document (not mentioning as “translated” on document). We sent our own Birth Certificates and Marriage Certificate (having Urdu and English script together) during PR and were accepted without any problem.

Hey, since our kid was born in India she had a birth certificate that was in English as well as a regional language. We submitted the same when we filed for our citizenship in December and we received an AOR. So, I reckon you should be okay.

You have to translate it by certified translator, dual language birth certificate not acceptable.
Don't risk your application just on people experience.

i think dual language birth certificate is ok as long as it is original and has english or french in it , on CIC website, says any document not in french nor english should be translated by public notary. Since original birth certificate has english on it, i think should be fine.

also , i believe certified translator for birth certificate only requires when apply for canada passport, PR or citizenship application not required, public notary is fine. ( my friends did for PR renew and citizenship application , it was all OK)

just follow the instructions on CIC website and read it carefully, everything should be ok In most case, i guess.

You must have to translate, as it has experienced by my friend just 6 months ago when he applied for citizenship for kids having a dual language birth certificate from Pakistan and the application was returned because of translation, (though it was accepted at the time of PR application for them), Moreover other applicants applications have been returned becuase of dual language b.certificates if you search this forum.
So better to get it translated

Only English & French dual will be acceptable as both are official Canadian language.

Thanks for the reply. My status is in process from 24th feb but is fingerprint is mandatory for all citizenship application or do they call randomly

No not for all. Only when they want to do more background check.

Not Mandatory. Only if you name came up as a match in the criminality database.
