Does anyone know if the citizenship application can be linked to one's CIC account?
Also, I still don't see any info about my citizenship application in ECAS.

Update: App. Sent: December 14, not 04. Please amend spreadsheet :D. Further, I checked online that they started processing my application on Feb 28, although I haven't received anything on this regard yet. I suppose this is the ecas? If so, kindly include this in the spreadsheet.

Thanks and have a nice week ahead, folks.

Hi All

My application is returned due to "Incomplete" application for my kid. They had mentioned that I was missing "Two" identification documents for my kid. I had attached my kid's Passport (foreign), PR card, Landing papers and Birth certificate.

So I had called them today and the agent has no specific details related to my application. Now I have to submit a webform and ask my questions specific to my application which would take another week or so get the information. However I am wondering what went wrong with the application and still has no clue what was I missing.

Can someone tell me what other documents are needed for a minor applicant?

Below you'll find the acceptable and non-acceptable ID documents copied from IRCC website:

The following are some, but not all, of the documents that can be used to establish identity. This is not a complete list and it is not in order of priority:
  • age of majority card;
  • Certificate of Indian Status card;
  • driver’s license;
  • passport;
  • health insurance identification card;
  • senior citizen’s card;
  • travel document.
Documents not accepted as a piece of identification:
  • Birth certificate: used to establish the person’s date and place of birth and can also be used to establish parentage between a child and their parent(s).
  • Document establishing Canadian citizenship status: citizenship or naturalization certificate, retention certificate and certificate of registration of birth abroad.

Also note:

Children of preschool age may not be able to provide two identity documents or an identity document that includes their photo. In such cases, an explanation letter must accompany their application. Officers may use discretion for preschool age children.

Thanks for your reply. My kid is a grade 3 student and I am wondering what additional documents can I submit.

Sorry to hear they returned your application
Hope this helps

  1. Two (2) pieces of the child’s personal identification
    Both pieces of identification should show your child’s name and date of birth, one of which must have a photo on it.
    Examples include:
    • school record
    • health insurance card
  2. If there is information on both sides of your child’s personal identification documents, provide a photocopy of both sides.
    For a child under school age, identification such as:
    • a passport page containing their photo and personal details, or
    • a hospital or immunization record, may be provided
  3. Format: Clear and legible photocopy
    Note: You cannot use your child’s permanent resident card as identification.
  4. Birth certificate or adoption order (in the case of adopted children)
    The document must show:
    • the child’s name,
    • date of birth,
    • place of birth and
    • the names of the parents or adoptive parents

Since for my kids, neither Health card or School record does not contain photos I called CIC and asked about it. Lady told me that I should submit biographical page of the passport (I submitted it twice one in section passports and second for identification purposes) and health card. This is what I have done. you should note that according to the CIC website PR cards cannot be used for identification.

For my child's application, I submitted the passport, immunization record and health card. Only 1 photo ID proof is required. The second ID needn't have a photograph. I successfully received the AOR.

I have a question. I got email for my AOR and I was hoping I will get a similar email for my inprocess status.
Today I logged in to check my status and it showed my application is in process. Is it supposed to be this way that yo dont get an email for the status change?
