I am a Permanent Resident and have already received my PR card back in 2018, and now my wife is going through with her process so that she could be with me in Canada.

She has a similar timeline, having an AOR for 17th December 2019, Medicals Passed on 8th January 2020 and Biometrics done on 14th January 2020.

However she received a Ghost update on the profile where the background check was initiated (as that was the only change in the profile) sometime in the last week of March 2020.

No update since then. The wait is really hectic.

Keep me in the loop if you get any update, Please.
I need to do for my spouse after I get my PR card. Can I start processing for him after my AOR? Or only after my PPR? He already has medical and biometrics completed even though he was put as he is not accompanying as the score was coming lower with him and his education evaluation is stuck for a long time... should he do medical and biometrics again?

Spouse... married for 12 years. What is not clear? He isn’t accompanying as per my original express entry submission. But they still got medical and biometrics for him along with me. I need to sponsor for him as a spouse after I get my PR. Question is on when I can start his application and whether he would need to redo medical/bio etc.

You are going to ruin your application if you do that at this stage. Ircc will see that as misrepresentation and will affect your application. You have to wait until you cimplete the entire process and your pr. Then start your spousal application. My 2 cents

i guess even if she can go thru the paper processing, she will be asked upon landing about the marriage stuff...at the port of entry...

@EssGee you mentioned you will sponsor him AFTER you get your PR. As @tomdele said- its better to wait. Immigration doesn't work with flip/flop decisions. I say to wait-thats now a 4 cents opinion.

I expressed my concern and request to speed up the process considering my life situation... webform response was very positive saying they will take all the efforts to approve at the earliest. Atleast I am being honest with the whole situation. In my case it was always that he will join later

I have a work permit and already inside Canada. He also has a open permit... just didn’t come here yet and might not come until his PR. We have already submitted all marriage related documents and until border closed was driving back and forth between USA/Canada. We still see issue?

Yeah not changing the decision... it’s always been the same. But I will wait to apply until my physical PR card? Or after my PPR? Or can i just start paper work and keep it ready to submit after the appropriate state...

As far as i know, the PR card is a physical card you can copy which has your pic and a number attached. Does PPR come with something physical that you can photocopy? @EssGee

I am new to this whole immigration... I thought PPR is a soft copy document like AOR which I download from my online application profile.

I know someone who got the exact same response in his webform. On his second request which he raised soon after getting this response, they came back with the good news that his application is approved.
So did that person send another webform immediately or within few days or a week?
