You got ppr on saturday? That’s interesting!

Congrats for your PPR!!!

I think it will not be a problem if your passport expires after 11.5 months. I have read in a thread/blog that the validity of the COPR is usually up to the end of the 12th month from the date of your medicals. However, if anyone's Passport (included the application) is expiring before that date, then the validity of the COPR will be up to the date of expiry of the Passport.

Renewing the passport now will be a bad idea, in my opinion, as your travel document (Passport) details will not match with that in the application and this might probably create unsolicited problems.

All the best.
New passport carries old passport details at the last page with family and address details.
So one can verify easily.

Got my PPR last friday (17/05)!

FSW-Outland
NOC: 2171
Number of applicants: 03
ITA: 28-11-2018
AOR: 19-12-2018
MEP: 31-01-2019
ADR: 08-05-2019 ("Government Employment Details" form for both me and my wife)
Additional documents sent/uploaded: 13-05-2019
PPR: 17-05-2019

I had been stuck on IP1 since MEP. The IP2 update actually came at the same time as the PPR e-mail.

My first set of notes showed that until 21-03-2019 very little activity happened in my file.

So for all those stuck in IP1, do not give up hope.

I will take this opportunity to put a query forward: the PPR e-mail says that I have 30 days to submit passports along with photographs. Just as the PPR came I was trying to renew my son's passport, which has less than 6 months of validity as of now.

I believe that I will have his new passport in my hands around 29-05-2019. This gives me plenty of time to meet the IRCC deadline (15-06-2019).
But I am not sure of how to proceed:

(1) Should I send the new passport with a copy of the (old one) bio page?
(2) Should I send both passports?

And more importantly...

(3) Is it really necessary to raise a CSE via webform to let IRCC know of this change? If so, should I wait for the IRCC acknowledgement before sending the passports?

Since people report that IRCC may take weeks to process a CSE, I am afraid that my deadline will come to pass before I can send the passports.

Does anyone know how to proceed giving these circunstances? Any clues @legalfalcon @USProgrammer @derkdsou ?

CSE replies have come through in 4-5 business days if not faster, in my personal experience.

Expiring passports must be a very common thing as processing times get longer. Raising a CSE shouldn't create any delays, and it's fine to inform IRCC that you are waiting for the new passport but don't have the details of the new booklet yet. When you have received the new passport, I would send in both the new and old booklets, just to play it safe. This is simply my opinion, of course.

We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Make sure you read your messages and take action when we ask you to. This will help move the application process along.

Is it an ip1 or ip2
Thanks for help in advance

Congratulations!!

(1) Should I send the new passport with a copy of the (old one) bio page?
Only send the new pasport

(2) Should I send both passports?
No, only the new one is required.

After your application has been approved, you can send the new passport. No need to inform IRCC of the passport renewal.

Hi guys, I thought I'd help calm everyone's nerves with a progress report on the number of cases from December that have been approved. This is to remind us that the vast majority of cases are still outstanding - last week was not a great one for PPRs, so let's hope this one is!

FSW-O India/India: 24% of active cases approved; 15% of all cases approved (all cases = active + inactive profiles on MyImmiTracker)
There are also stats for FSW-O India/USA, FSW-O India/Any Country, as well as All Streams India/India.
