I ordered GCMS Notes earlier this week, but now I just really want to call CIC and ask for my current status. In your opinion, would this be a problem? How often can we ask for updates without looking stalkerish?

Based on the current status of your application you definitely should call and check up on it.

And simply because you took the time to ask this question, trust me, there's no chance of you looking stalkerish. I've seen people calling them for updates 25 days after their AOR date and then complaining the agents response wasn't satisfactory.

Just got off the phone with IRCC. Wait time was only 12 mins. This is the information I received

Eligibility: Recommended pass
Criminality: Passed
Security: Not Started
VO: Inside Canada

Earlier this month when I spoke to a very pleasant agent, I was told the following:

Eligibility: Recommended pass
Criminality: Passed
Security: In process
VO: CPC Ottawa

I don’t know what to make of the security part but I’m happy as long as eligibility appears to be on track and as long as I remain within 6 months timeline. I will consider ordering notes by mid April when I hit 4 months mark.

Hello all, I have been trying to call IRCC to get an update but all I hear is'i am unable to make calls to this number'.
I had called them previously last month.
Are you using 9mobile? Try MTN. 9mobile has barred calls to CIC from Nigeria. The call rate was perhaps too low. Hehehehe. Also, confirm you are calling +16139444000
 
I am actually calling the 613 number....but lemme try blocking the caller Id.
I had this same problem calling CIC. Had to finally use an MTN sim. It costs way more to call CIC on MTN.
Tip: Buy N1500 credit and subscribe to international call bundle with *131*5#
This covers for the 30 something minute wait till you reach an agent.

Why would you pay all that money instead of using Hangouts (free) or Skype (cheap)??

I wouldn't bother them again on the same day for sure. They record when you call.

I'd wait a week at least. Security seems like it takes the longest. If your eligibility is recommended pass and criminality is passed, your next update will probably be ghost update + PPR.

I called to cic on 10th March 2019 after that I am just waiting .Thatswhy considering to call again .But I hope agent will not say that why are you calling again and again.

As patience is a big game.
 
Hangouts voice call feature is not available in Nigeria. I tried it.
I will try Skype and give feedback.

Skype is $6.99 USD/mo for unlimited calls to Canada or you can just buy credit and pay 2.3 cents (USD)/minute. You appear to be able to buy the credit in $5 USD increments.

If it makes you feel better, I don't think the agent can see when you called. But IRCC can when processing your app. I doubt it matters, but if you're doing something extreme like calling multiple times per day every day, you may encounter increased scrutiny. Who knows, though?
