Yes! They only call if the info they find online creates any doubt with what your letter of employment says.

Hello everyone.. today i just called my company to ask them that whether they have received any mail or call from ircc for eligibility. They said they didn’t received anything but the agent from ircc told me that my eligibility is done..

Is it possible they pass the eligibility without calling the workplace?

Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check- This represents IP1
We are processing your background check. we will send you a message if we need more information- This represents IP2
My status was opposite of this!
Before BIL it was what you are mentioning as IP2 and after i completed biometrics it changed to what you mentioned as IP1!
Now i am confused!

hi All,
I had a query, would be glad if anyone could address it.
My application status says :
We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
"Make sure you read your messages and take action when we ask you to. This will help move the application process along." - Does this line mean anything positive? Because earlier the Application status read something else like - You may not hear from us for a while, this is normal. Most of the progress on your application happens closer to your estimated completion date.

AOR - 4th Dec
MEP - 17th Jan
Eligibility - Not reviewed
No update on the profile or mail/message ever since 17th Jan.

My AOR is on 5th Dec. I asked the question previously as same as you. That is an auto message that system shows us after 3 months.

Just got off the phone with the most pleasant agent. He confirmed my eligibility is met but background checks haven't started.

AOR 12 Dec, FSW-O.

I have a question regarding ghost updates. When the application status changes to updated, do we normally receive an email or one can only find this out by logging into the account?

This is what I received today. Earlier my office was CIO Sydney. Now its Montreal, which is surely the slowest of all. Any idea what the transfer means? Workload, or is it specifically for Review Required applications, or have they completed eligibility, so they transferred it? I have already ordered notes. Will have them in 3 weeks.

  • Your application is currently being processed at the local office in Montreal.
  • The background verifications have not been initiated.

Quick update on my application in case it's useful to anyone else or there's any insights on it!

Just called IRCC and spoke with an absolute babe of a woman (Always a worry you'll have waited and they'll be arsey and not give you any info!). I queried my Visa office as I had a response to a CSE that noted it was with CPC Edmonton, Alberta. This was previously at CIO Sydney, Nova Scotia.

She confirmed my file has moved from Sydney to Edmonton, as the Edmonton office is assisting with processing in order to minimise any delays to processing times. She also noted as I'm an outland applicant this won't be the final office, and will move to Ottawa or my LVO once it's finalised. She referenced my notes on a number of occasions and noted there is nothing missing, plenty of activity and movement and nothing to worry about. She also confirmed Criminality, Security and Eligibility were in process and that they were waiting on some results for those items.

I just called IRCC and although I got through to an agent he was kind of irate and told me that because the 6 months wasn’t up he had no information to give :(.

Ahh i'm sorry, it's always a risk when you call that you'll get someone like that. Just leave it a couple of days and try again!

I would just call right back. You probably won't get the same person. Some of them are just dicks. They don't understand what it's like to be in our position, and they DO have info we don't have.

I called again and got through to a really nice agent this time! Sadly nothing has been started on my application yet, but at least it isn't any bad news!

EDIT: and my application is in Ottawa apparently
