@tintu1717 @chappque @MIP2510 @Nav sohal @Sidharth.299 @amandymca @yuchendl @PRAHADEESH - wow, so much activity! Congratulations to all of you on your PPR, and thank for sharing words of encouragement to keep the rest of us going! (Sorry if I've missed anyone - not intentional!)

That is just a reminder by PA to officers that you have attached a LOE and needs to be looked at.
@GenDent, I support this -- "client information" stands for the section of the application where one uploads their LOE. I wouldn't worry too much about this, it is usually a routine statement made by the (junior) case analyst to his/her superior to take another look at the LOE.

In your case, the RR for statutory questions is if you have answered yes to any prior visa rejection. If you did answer yes, it is a way of flagging it out to the immigration officer to review it before your eligibility is promoted as passed.

No, you do not need to show PoF if:

1. you are in Canada with a authorisation to work, and
2. Have a job or offer of employment.

To generally understand RR, see:

Understanding “Review Required”

A lot of applicants see “review required” in their GCMS notes for eligibility. There are many theories floating around with regard to what “review required” means and if it is alarming.

Before I venture into explaining the significance, it is important to understand that each application goes through the following stages as per the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act and the regulations (Canadian Immigration Law):

R10 – Completeness Check
Criminality
Medicals
A11.2 – eligibility
Security

Out of the above, the most important stage is eligibility. This is also the most time-consuming stage because your documents have to be verified, evaluated and assessed to ascertain that you meet the eligibility criteria for the program you have applied (FSW / CEC / FTW). To stream line this process and make it easier for an immigration officer (decision making authority), all applications are first evaluated by case analysts or program assistants. They review the documents and summarize it in the GCMS. If they have any concerns with any document or want the immigration officer to carefully look into a specific document, they will flag it as “review required.” It is the content of the note that is important here. If the review required is for a specific document, while the summary of the note says that an applicant has met the eligibility, or “ready to finalize” it simply means that while the applicant has met the eligibility criteria, but the specific document needs a careful examination form the officer before promoting (eligibility pass) by the officer.

However, if there are concerns, there will be a review required for the eligibility, and there will be no text to the effect “ready to finalize” or pass. The note will specifically state job duties do not match, or the employment cannot be verified, or the number of years of work experience claimed cannot be verified. This is where an application can land in muddy waters. But the final decision rests on the immigration officer. He may override the decision of the analyst / assistant or go with the analysis of the analyst / assistant.

Even in cases where the analyst / assistant is of the opinion that the applicant has met the eligibility, and there is no “review required,” the officer can replace it with his own opinion. Though rare, but it does happen. This is why the eligibility is only passed when an officer conclusively marks the eligibility as passed.

Finally, there is “review required” for PoF. This is the most common in many applications. This is because, the financial and banking practices of each country are different. Eg. Fixed deposits are know as Certificate of Deposit (CD) in the US. Similarly, treasury bonds, mutual funds, stocks, and many other investment vehicles are there. If your PoF anything other than a bank deposit, it is more likely that it will be marked as “review required.” Also, IRCC does not go by day to day fluctuations in FOREX. Instead, the Canadian federal government issued a quarterly conversion rate for all FOREX vis-a-via CAD. If your PoF is in a foreign currency, then you may have “review required” for the officer to make a determination.

Just because you have “review required” does not mean that you hit the panic mode. Instead, read the context in which it is there. If there is a concern regarding a document, you can send a replacement document via CSE. The most common reasons for RR are:

1. Work reference letter without job duties
2. Work reference letters missing all the details requested by IRCC
3. If you submitted a letter from a colleague because you were unable to get one from your employer, but did not have a LoE on file, this too will lead to RR.
4. Not sufficient work experience in the primary NOC.
5. Inability to verify your employment as your employer details are missing.

There are just some of the scenarios.

Are you seeing that you have sufficient experience to meet the MEC (minimum entry criteria) for your stream from some other part of your notes (because it says your CEC/Canada work experience has been calculated to be 6 months)? If you meet your MEC without the need to include your time with Company1, then why did you? Alternative forms of evidence (such as colleague or client testimonials, pay stubs, etc.) will attract extra attention and secondary reviews, and therefore the 'review required'?

@RanaHamdi My AOR is dec 10. employer from company1 refused to give me a letter.Notes itself says that I have enough experience from company2 and company3.
it is still in progrss how can i solve this
need help to understand gcms notes why review required?

Hello friends, I am an Indian FSW applicant, living in Canada since 2016. I applied under Express Entry (with 478 points) last year. My timeline is as follows:

AOR: Dec. 7, 2018
MEP: Jan. 18, 2019
Review of Eligibility and Background Check have been going on since then. (Reviewing Eligibility Requirements and Processing Background Check)

I was employed in Alberta while my wife worked in Montreal when we applied. Unfortunately, I was let go by my company on March 4 and I immediately let CIC know about it. I claimed no points for the employment in Canada since there was no LMIA and I was employed for only 5 months when I applied. I also let CIC know that I was looking to relocate to Ontario to search for new opportunities.

I left Alberta on March 29 and I came back to Montreal to stay with my wife for a while. Since then I have been traveling back and forth to Toronto, meeting people and attending interviews. I decided not to rent a place permanently since I didn't know where I would end up. I stay with my friends in different locations in Toronto and GTA when I got there for a short visit.

A couple of days back, I got to know from the CIC agent that the criminality is passed and the other stages are still in progress. Since I am nearing 6 months from the time of application, I believe it's important for me to update CIC about my address in Toronto / Ontario. I have no intention of settling in Quebec and since I applied under FSW, I didn't want to tell CIC that I have been staying in Montreal for a few days. One of my friends in downtown Toronto has suggested me to use his address for communication but I fear that might complicate my application.

I am looking to be mobile in Toronto and am set to appear for a driving knowledge test this week using my friend's address to get the license delivered. Should I update CIC about the Toronto address I am going to use? If, by any means, I get any notification for PPR, it would be difficult for me to change the address. In that case, the authorities might suspect me and challenge why I didn't let them know about the change in address as soon as I relocated from Alberta. I didn't do it since I had been living with different friends in different locations in Toronto and didn't have a permanent address there.

Considering my timeline, I sincerely seek urgent advice, especially from senior members. Please help me out.

Hello all,

I am the primary applicant and had shown the work-ex of spouse before receiving ITA. Later I realised, for spouse, no. Canadian work-ex holds no points, hence I did not produce documents (ref letter) of the same and in LOE I explained the same saying since this does not add any marks to overall score, I have not provided ref letter of spouse. All other things were in sync. AOR 5 Dec. MEP 16 Jan. No other update since then.

Do you think I can call to an agent and talk about this. Or is this impacting the processing time of my application.

Thanks and all the best!

IF you have a current status in Canada, you can continue living in Canada, and your application under FSW should not be an issue.

As regards your address, do not provide the Quebec address. If you do, then you will not be eligible under FSW, unless you are nominated by Quebec.

See https://www.canlii.org/en/ca/fct/doc/2018/2018fc248/2018fc248.html?searchUrlHash=AAAAAQAZcXVlYmVjIElSQ0MgZXhwcmVzcyBlbnRyeQAAAAAB&resultIndex=1

You can provide your friend's address.

This is, indeed, the sort of thing that LOEs are there for, so you should be fine. Of course, feel free to call and check on the status of your application - there is a link in my signature on how to call.

There was a long wait. Not enough seating for all. Turnover time is quite slow and kinda out of order I felt. Not sure but I guess they do have a photo booth. They have a premium section that'll help you get it over with quickly.
Btw I used the same photo w/ Canada specifications as the one in my original application . No issues.
All the best.
