It has been 5 business days i haven’t received any letter from IRCC, does any one has similar issue? I am also traveling outside Canada what number should i use to enquire about the letter not being received?

Well its surely a Finger print request and it needs to be done in 30 days and you will need the letter they send to you for FP. Call IRCC and state your concern.

Thanks KRP, i am traveling overseas and will be back end of next week,should i call IRCC using outside Canada number or should i use webform?

Welcome to the forum, man! Since it's obviously hard to predict about individual timelines or what happens in the next moment, I am gonna say renew your passport just in case and be ready for your upcoming travel. Unfortunately it will cost you some extra moolah to renew your passport but you would be at peace knowing that you are well-prepared to make your trip to Boston! Make a judgement call. If you wanna wait a bit (make sure you check the processing time of your new passport) and see if you would hear from IRCC (about the test invitation, the test/interview date, oath ceremony and then actually applying for your Canadian passport). If you are confident that all these four steps would happen in less than two months (and assuming that they don't request any additional documents from you), then you can wait. Unless you've requested for urgent processing, these steps takes time..

as far as i know they mainly send test invites via email. Most of us (December applicants) are still waiting for Test invites, you can check previous months progress on the sheet to get an idea.
According to the reported data, 5% of December 2017 applicants got test invites, 25% of November 2017 and 58% of October 2017
So it might be very soon, or it could take several more weeks / months (hopefully not).
