I can see my case in ecas with two lines, but I do not see that it is in process.

Yes as per current processing time

Probably you're right. Since I've observed a total time of 6 months. Are test invites sent via email right? Also for the snail mail for RQ or FP request, does the envelop says CIC or it's a blank envelope with confidential written on it. I am going out of the country so have to ask some one to pickup the mail. This is the reason, I am asking this

Well i am not sure about CIC but so far whenever i have seen a letter from and government department, it always shows the name of the department on the envelope.

I'm guessing @rfasihi's background check will be done after test, assuming they didn't apply for urgent processing.

@HLR...well, I believe if they took you to test level, means they are satisfied with the proceedings n documents, logically background check should sequence before test.. comments from friends??

That would mean you'd encounter more delays, as now they can do some parts of the process in parallel.

Test and BG checks are independent can be run in parallel.
Getting a test invite does not automatically imply all other checks were complete and satisfactory.
You can get a test invite before BG checks even begin, and vice versa.
