So I decided to check my mail today. I just got back from visiting my husband and I received a letter dated Jan 20 saying I was approved to sponsor and our application is in Mexico. I gave them my email but they sent via Canada post. It was sent by Canada post Jan 27.

Congrats on your SA :D I got mine on mail as well. 2 other people I know also got them by mail. Seems like some documents they mail instead of email regardless of correspondence preference.

really, it seems the officers dont really follow the procedures.

It varies so much and makes people worry for sure

So my ecas states we have received your application in December 23rd only. MyCIC shows application is open, review of eligibility is not started and my medical results says review in progress.
No updates received at all between the 23rd of December and now, not one email or letter.
Be honest with me here, should I be worried?

they received my Application on Dec 20th 2016,
started processing my app. on Jan 4th, and I received email with UCI and FILE #.

I liked my account successfully, still shows In Progress.

Are you the PA or the Sponsor? The Sponsor obviously still have not been approved to date. Once approved (Sponsor on ECAS will show Decision Made), Review of Eligibility on MyCIC will change to 'In Progress'.

I am the PA, I believe we wait then.

When did they start processing yours? My husband also just sent me a message and said he got a letter in the mail today as well. So I am guessing that their correspondence to us will be by mail and not email. Which sucks because email is soooo much faster. Mail is like turture haha

Can anyone tell me if the UCI number for sponsor and PA are different. The letter my husband recieved says use your UCI number located at the top right but the only number there is application number with the letter F in front of it. They confuse me so much!

On my letter as the sponsor it has UCI and app number on it.

I'm assuming you've tried all the normal tricks mentioned on the forum for linking with the given name, family name, etc?

Yeah I've tried everything. Used name and dob, space for place of birth. We even signed my husband up for an account to see if that would help but nothing. I don't know any other combos to even try

AOA,

Can someone please guide with the Spouse work permit application process step by step.

I am in Canada on PGWP and would like to apply open work permit for my wife. How does it work ? Do I need to apply online for her as a outside Canada because she is in Pakistan rite now. If someone can guide me through this would be great.

Moreover, I also wanted to apply my PR via express entry. Should I apply my spouse work permit first and once she get here then apply for PR or should two application can go at the same time.

Is there any guideline or check list that I can use to apply Spouse work permit ?

JazakAllah ,

Have you varied the number of applicants from what it should be? Mine ended up working with 1 instead of 2 or 3. It's entirely possible I've asked you that before, so apologies if I have. ;)

No worries at all I will gladly take your advice :)

I tried 1,2,3 and I also tried switching birth city to current city. I just exceeded the tries for both accounts haha

I will try the technical support option tomorrow if no luck. I'm guessing that's probably not helpful either.

By the way I see you have decision made! That's awesome :D
