In my case, as soon as I linked my App, it already showed my medical being "Passed". Prior to linking my App and until now, ECAS still showing "medical received".

Really? I linked my app maybe 3 weeks ago and it doesn't say anything about the medical being passed or even received. I hope they received it ok from the hospital

Upfront medical here as well and as soon as they got my application it showed passed when I was able to check.

The below steps helped me link my App on the same day my Sponsor got approved. Hopefully it will also work for you. You must use the PA's details to link to MyCIC.

1. Logged in with GC Key account.
2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouses)
2-a. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/pasted application number from email (including the F) and entered PA's last name.
3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once)
4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - Did not enter any passport info
6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application
and put '2' as the number of members in the application. I am sponsoring my husband, no dependents.

Again, for 2-a, I selected Family Name, Given Name, Birthday (This is Principal Applicant's (PA) info).

On no. 6, I entered '4' because I have 2 dependents.

Good luck.

Thankyou very much for your help. Now I am going to try.

The day I had the upfront med, I was advised by the staff to follow-up with them after 2 weeks to make sure that they already forwarded the tests done to the Manila Embassy. Barely a few days before the 2-week time, I sent them an email (instead of calling so I have proof of contacting them :) ) asking about my med exam. They came back pretty fast (within 15 minutes after I sent my email) saying that they already forwarded everything 3 days after we (I have 2 dependents) had the exam. I knew then that the embassy already had our medicals even before we sent the Application.

I would like to say Thanks a million for sharing that information because before this information I was not able to link my information and was wondering why. Now I am able to link it.

Thanks a million and good luck to you!

Glad to know it worked also for you. Best wishes on your App :)

I just checked mycic and my background check has now changed to "in process". Has anyone else received the same? Isn't this the final step??

Typically it is, but keep in mind that process can take weeks. Strange to see December applicants going into background check before a lot of November and October people though. Hard to guess what they're up to these days.

Oh wow! That's exciting! I am not sure if it's the final step. But just this morning I was reading some September applicants about that and I think that's what they were saying.

I still am not able to link to mycic, haven't received any emails or anything. The only way I know something is in ecas where it said decision made for me the sponsor and then the PAs app says in process.

Again I am not able to link my application. It is really frustrating.

Are you the PA? Did you file the application on your own or, you have a representative/consultant?

Yeah I'm honestly surprised at how fast its moving considering I was missing a document to begin with. ECAS seems to give a more detailed update than mycic, though both seem to update at different times. ECAS says they began processing PR app on Jan 28th.

Hopefully you receive an email from them soon!

It took me a long time to find the combination of information that worked to link my app. Just keep trying and hopefully you'll get it soon! :)

So I decided to check my mail today. I just got back from visiting my husband and I received a letter dated Jan 20 saying I was approved to sponsor and our application is in Mexico. I gave them my email but they sent via Canada post. It was sent by Canada post Jan 27.
