December 2016 - Citizenship Applicants

Congrats on passing the test and hope you get your oath letter soon.

I passed the test on Feb 17 then received a finger print request afterwards.
Did the FP's 3 weeks ago and called CIC call centre today. Very nice call center agent checked my file and said that there is a note on the system from today to say that they received my fingerprints.
As my local office is Ottawa but the FP request came from St Claire, I asked her which one is my office and she was not completely sure but said that the papers are now at St Claire and may later on be sent to Ottawa!

Today, I had written test and Interview. Passed with score 19 out of 20. Exam was very easy, I read out the book 3/4 times and practice from online.

At interview:
she checked my all ID and my both passport (expire+ New) each and every pages & my educational original certificate
Asked me, is there any criminal record or indecent. I replayed NO
Lastly she asked me, my intention to live in Canada. I said, I am here to live in canada
that's all in the interview.

After then she told me to wait 6 to 8 weeks to get letter for oath invitation.

It takes 6 mins to finished the exam and 15 mins at the interview but the waiting time is almost 3 hr.

Finished the exam today - 20/20 - nothing from the online tests but the topics are similar.

I had the interview before the test - just asked questions about things unique to my application. So, it was quick after the test. The only glitch is that they had another candidate's answer sheet on my file. It's a good thing I looked.

which office did you have your test?
 
I received my passport back and sent the copies to CIC. They should get them tomorrow. Hopefully the follow up doesn't take long.

Unfortunately, when I was gathering my papers over the weekend I realized I didn't have my passport with me. Rocket scientist me didn't remember I would need it for the citizenship test when I happily handed it over to the US embassy for my visa renewal a week earlier. To top it off, I have tons of travel, so the agent said she would absolutely need that passport. She was very understanding and professional, and asked me to send copies when I get the passport back, which should be some 10 days from now. She could have given me the full RQ (she had lots of different forms) but this one is very specific. Not sure if I could get an RQ later on, but this where I am today.

share some ideas what online site did you use to review.
I'm a kind a bit of nervous... It's funny cause
even in my dreams I saw my self writing a test..

Had my test on the 15th March in Missisauga and still no update on ecas. How long is this going to take.. anyone with similar experience?

I received my test invite letter on 04 Feb 2017 by Canada post and my ecas was update on March 9 2017 ...stating they sent a correspondence on Mar 09 to write test on March 16....so you can figure out how this system works....some applicant gets update on ecas quickly and others don't...so don't worry..sit back without worrying...we all have done our part..all the Best..

Application has In Process since Jan04, 2017.

Mississauga Office has become very slow since Jan 2017..

Any one with the Mississauga office received test invites so far, please share.

Do we need to carry a copy of Physical Presence Calculator at the time of Test/Interview .Is interview mandatory for all ?

No need for the Presence Calculator. Yes interview is mandatory for all adult applicants.
