Hi cannewzea,
My visa office is new delhi. people usually get their ppr email either next day or in two days. Dont know what is taking too long here :(

I don't think it takes one or two days from DM to COPR (for email confirmation). Our VO is Paris and even though we got DM on May 2nd, we still didn't get any email confirming it, nor mail with the letter. Based on previous dates from other people, it takes about 2 weeks between DM and COPR, and some never got a confirmation email.

If you feel like 30 Days won't be enough to submit the additional documents, tell CIC asap. They usually grant an extension as long as you don't wait until the last Day or two to request it!

Thanks.

DM over the weekend..checked today...

:o :o :o :o

Am I dreaming??

Congratulations, great news and gives us hope :) Keep us posted for the ppr.

I called CIC to ask how long it takes for the COPR letter to arrive after status changed to DM (the ecas status changed on May 2nd). The call center agent was surprised that our file was sent to Paris while my common law partner was here with me in Canada. She asked me if I notified CIC that he is living here with me, so I told her that according to the forms we sent, and according to e-cas, his home address is here in Canada.
Anyhow, she said that it may take up to 6 weeks or more for the COPR letter to arrive (since my common law partner is visa exempt), because Paris sends the letter in batches. I hope she is wrong, but I guess there is nothing else we can do. I did asked if the PR application was approved, and she said yes. We got the decision made, but you never know...

My husband is living with me here in Canada though his home address is mentioned there in England. Are we supposed to inform cic about that? And I think before sending anything in post they email a form asking the postal address where to deliver document.

I didn't know that we were suppose to inform them that while the application is processed as outland, we are living together here in Canada. And I don't think it's mandatory.

But if your husband has his home address in England maybe you could have the mailing address here in Canada, in case they want to send some paperwork, they can send it here. You could call them and ask them, to be sure. Sometimes they don't send emails asking where you want the package to be sent.

PPR Received today at 1:30 am EST ;D ;D ;D

12th Feb 2016 applicant
NDVO
DM on 8th or 9th May 2016

This is God speed and we are extremely happy and joyful.

My wife is already in Canada on Visitor Visa and luckily they have given option of sending passport to Ottawa for stamping. Just dispatched her passport, 2 photos and the passport request letter along with an Xpressport envelope to Ottawa, should reach them by tomorrow.

Once we receive her stamped passport, can we go to a local office for her landing formalities or would need to go on a border crossing only?

If we have to go to the Niagara Falls border crossing, can I (Applicant's spouse who is already a PR) accompany my wife during the flag-poling process?

Anyone who has either got their landing formality done within a local office or flag-poling at the border, kindly share your experiences.

Cheers to everyone receiving DM and PPR :D

I am happy to let you know that we received COPR today. The letter came from Paris, and was issued on April 22nd, sent on April 28 and we received it in Canada on May 11th (I was able to see DM on e-cas on May 2nd, so they don't update the files right away).

Funny thing is that I called CIC yesterday and they told me that the correspondence was not sent yet and it may take 6 weeks to get it. We did not receive any email asking us to confirm the mailing address, they sent the letter to the existing mailing address from the file.

We applied as common law partners, and it took us less then 5 months from start to finish (application received on Dec 17, file sent to Paris on Febr 23 and COPR received May 11th).

In the weekend we'll go to Niagara to activate the PR.

Good luck to all the members of our December group, as well to everyone else who is still waiting for the good news.
