Yes, I had DM and then received my COPR a few days later. I am from the US. I never received a request for passport photocopies. I am not sure the reason why some need to send and others do not.

This is false. My spouse is from NZ and we received PPR. Our eCas changed to Decision Made this Sunday and this Monday at 8am my husband received an email requesting 2 photos/photocopy of his passport/ copy of the email with the information filled in the chart/XpressPost self addressed envelope to be sent to CPP-Ottawa within 30 days of receipt of the email.
idk but i kinda heard that for old cases they did PPR1 & PPR2. the first pertaining to copies & then the 2nd for the actual passport to be stamped. may not be the case, just putting it out there. :)

Here is the whole answer from Tolexmi:

"If your country is visa exempt to Canada, then there wont be a need for PPR. U might only get a email asking for copies of passport and not send the passport itself. eCas will change to DM, and you will get your CoPR".

So your husband did receive an email requesting a photocopy of his passport, just as Tolexmi mentioned in this post.

Actually, he/she edited the post to include that after jmacd11's post, so no he/she didnt mention that and thats why he/she was corrected so people didn't get the wrong information. As you can see from the original quote. He/she is obviously a little upset about being corrected.

Just a Prove ::::

and later...

No PPR...

canadausa#11 and jmacd11 - Hope you're learning .... :-*
Stepchy is American. Countries like New Zealand, Australia, Britain are all visa exempt countries and still get PPR (photocopies) in a lot of cases, not directly from DM to COPR as you claimed. Hope you're learning too.

Hey everyone!

Couple of questions. I had a couple of questions and I'm hoping, actually I know someone here will be able to help answer them.

1. One of the applicants on the November group mentioned that he was able to log in using his wife's new uci soon after she got the email from the Singapore VO stating that the pr application was in process. It's been almost three weeks and I still can't log in with my husband uci (same VO) just wondering if it's a cause for concern or they just havent started processing? Note:I already have my 3rd line on ECAS

2. I noticed that the Singapore VO handles applications from 10 or 11 different countries. Would this necessarily affect my processing time given that they may have more applications ? I know ottawa has been really fast but the new standard processing time has me wondering.

Thanks on advance to anyone who can help!

Hi Everyone,

Long time lurker, first (second?) time poster. We submitted New Year's Eve. My wife is in Peru and I'm in BC. We have gotten AOR2 and been asked to pay RPRF and get some additional criminal records. Seems like this changed for Peruvian Nationals since the New Year/new system. Does anyone know about this? Were we off from the start? My wife has asked them to verify that they need this information. But she is getting it anyways.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi and thanks more than anything.

Ok thnx bro :) I hope it'll go fast and smooth for u.

Btw about the PPR someone here told me that they won't ask us for it cuz we r visa exempt, do u know anything about that?
Yeah, like everyone above me said: I think they'll only ask me for a copy of the passport (which can be emailed) so we'll see when I hear back from them. At least they didn't ask for the Israeli police certificate (I was worried about it not getting there on time or being lost as I ordered it online right after I received my SA)

Oh okay, I didn't know there was a way to tell if someone modified a post. The post below is the only one that I had seen. How can you tell if it was changed? What original quote are you referring to?

I have now learned that "PPR" stands for Passport request OR Passport photocopy request. I had never heard anyone use that term for Passport photocopies. Learning everyday!! ;)

His/her original post was quoted by jmacd11, which was "If your country is visa exempt to Canada, then there wont be a need for PPR. eCas will change to DM, and you will get your CoPR." And then changed to what you saw after jmacd11 replied correcting that statement. And then proceeded to act pretty immature just because someone corrected the information he/she was giving to people.

But yes, its still PPR. I've seen the emails they send out, there is a list instructions for people who are not visa exempt, and a list for people that are visa exempt in the email. If the person is visa exempt, the VO still needs a copy of their passport before they can issue the COPR, so its a passport request.

Ohhh...I just thought the whole quote wasn't included when jmacd11 posted the quote. I understand what you are saying. I didn't mean to start up anything. I do think that sometimes the way things are worded can be taken the wrong way. I try to be open minded to everyone. I knew what Tolexmi was trying to convey with the info though. I knew that visa exempt countries were not required to send in actual passports. I never understood why some had to send in copies of their passport. I am from the US and wasn't requested to send in copies. I sent copies of my passport with my application.
Anyway.....glad to know that PPR means both ways.

Thanks!!

@Canadausa#11: My husband is British, we are still waiting for ecase change to DM. I will inform the forum what/how CIC communicate with him (being from visa exampt country) after DM.

Hey guys!

Still no COPR. Going down to New York for the long weekend to help my husband pack up though and get the B4's done so as soon as it comes he can hit the road! :D
