AOR received!! FINALLY!!!

Ok stupid qn - how do I update my profile on the side there <--- to add application info?

On the top right of the page you have a few tabs and one is "Profile". Click on it and it will take you to a new page. On the left side of the page, the second tab is "Modify profile". Click on "Forum profile information" and it will take you to the area where you will enter all info regarding your application. Hope it helps.

Hello all,

Thanks to everybody for the wealth of info that is being shared. It really helps us to ensure we are on track.

I'm a December applicant as well. Received AOR last Tuesday and still haven't sponsor approval.

On ECAS, it says application is in progress for the sponsor side and medical received for my husband.

Hopefully we'll receive the sponsor approval this week.

My wife and I submitted our outland application on the 4th of January and it came back today on us. My wife is living with me here in Canada as a visitor and we submitted the form listing her mailing address as in Canada. Today we received the application back with a statement highlighted saying:

"A correction to the mailing address specified on the Generic Application Form to Canada (IMM0008) to reflect the mailing address of the Principal Applicant; or, if the Principal Applicant wishes to have correspondence mailed to the address specified, a complete and signed Use of a Representative form (IMM5476) is required for the authorization of release of documents and information to the individual residing at this address"

Has anyone had a similar experience? How was it resolved?

Thank you

I've seen it happen to other members on the forum. You'll need to fill out form IMM5476 and appoint yourself as her "representative" so mail could be delivered to your address. It's a technicality but I have seen people on the forum reporting the same issue (application returned). Luckily I read about it before sending our package so we filled out the use of representative form and attached it just to be on the safe side..

Did she list the Canada address as both mailing & her residence address? I think that is where the problem lies. If CIC thinks her residence address is where she is "living" is not in Canada, but her mailing address is in Canada that is the problem. You can resubmitt with either completed representative form or just change the form to show the Canada address as both addresses.

No we put both addresses as the same in Canada. Does anyone know if this has caused delays? We have police checks we are worried will expire by the time the application is being processed.
thanks

Maybe you didn't list the Canadian address on form 5669 (Background /Deceleration) in question #12? Otherwise i'm not sure.. I'd say re-submit it as soon as you can with the use of representative form filled out.

That is what I thought would happen but it seems that they are starting to attach the medical result to the PR application prior to it being actually processed.
This would actually save some processing time. I just hope that they have already streamlined their current SOP.

So how does attaching the medical result to the PR application prior to it being actually processed save processing time? Also, does it mean that the PR application has been sent to the local visa office (even though I have not yet received SA)?

We use the same address on all the forms. We even called CIC to ask about it before submitting the application.

Today got this update:
We received your application to sponsor on December 9, 2015.
We started processing your application on February 2, 2016.
Medical results have been received.

Any comments on sponsor approval?

Ecas was updated with medical received but no SA yet

Luci: Did you get your SA? According to the spreadsheet, you are at your day 8. Just wondering since I'm at Day 6 and according to other members, some have received their SA at day 7.

Hi guys, just want to ask "the letter they gave me that I am approved to sponsor also stated that my families form has been forwarded in Manila for further processing", is that a file transfer?
