I got an email saying I've been approved as a sponsor and that my app is being forwarded to London, but ECAS still says "in progress" under the sponsor status. What's going on here?

Congrats on getting SA! Would you mind updating the spreadsheet please so we can all track our next steps accordingly?

I mentioned on the Forum yesterday that I can't see the "medical received" line on our file and today, it appeared! *Thank the Lord!*

Now just waiting impatiently for our SA. According to calculations (7 days average), we should receive it this week *fingers crossed!* :)

I still can't see the medical received, and it's upfront.
They started processing our application on February 1.
Should I call??

Congrats to all who already received the AOR, and lots of patience to the ones still waiting for any news from CIC.

We just got the AOR today, 55 days since they received the application. :D

Hi Guys,

Anyone applying for a visitor visa or a work permit for their spouse?
i know, it is not a good idea to do that.
But now lots of people are bringing their wives in visitor visa.

sure, but first i'd like to find out why the sponsor section in ECAS is still showing "in progress" even after i got the SA notification via email.

why isn't it a good idea? the visitor visa process is completely separate from the sponsorship process, and i guess there's no harm in applying. i would do it, but it's discouraging when i keep hearing about how it's nearly impossible to get one if your spouse is living in canada.

yes. anyways i'm also going to apply for a visitor visa.
But is there anyway to get the work permit after they land here?
Does it affects, if the work permit application gets rejected?

AOR received!! FINALLY!!!

Ok stupid qn - how do I update my profile on the side there <--- to add application info?

This is normal. It may never change. Now that you have SA just ignore the Sponsorship side and focus on the applicant's side.

CPC-O got my husbands FBI today via purolator. Now I guess I'm just waiting for DM!

According to posts from people who have received SA, it's electronic. Unless you didn't provide CIC with an email address, only then they would send you the letter.

A written confirmation comes when a Decision is made.

I provided an email and still got it in the mail. I'm still not sure why.

I'm worried. It's already have been 64 days and no SA, and ecas not showing medical received ??? What should I do ???

Again, the med received thing is for the applicant's side not the sponsor's side. it doesnt mean anything on the sponsor's side.

Also, 64 days is after 62 days so you could call CIC.

I'll do that. Thank you for the info ayrazar

Its going to be in process until PA has been completed or decision made.
