Actually that's interesting... In the French version it doesn't specify inland or outland.. Really strange...

It happens often?

@fab

So you also had Quebec, and in your letter in the English part is written Outland?

Indeed in my letter in french part is no mention of outland or inland, only goes Date, IUC, No demande...

Arghhh, I hate it!

We should call Monday CIC, I guess ???

Hello.

I have a question for people that have got their AORs. Does your AOR show the same date as the courier/postal service provider or has there been differences?

Thank you in advance.

In order to apply for the QC certificate, we needed the letter that we received yesterday... but why would I pay QC if I don't even have sponsorship approval from Canada? Maybe the letter is sponsorship approval? I'm confused.

Hi!

I had the same as you as I'm also applying to sponsor my spouse to Quebec. I received an email only and it's not so clear whether it's a AOR or sponsorship approval but I guess the approval as they ask me to send The Understaking form and fees to the Quebec office. It seems to me that the reason why there are using "inland" in the section where it says "INLAND SCLP" in the "Application:" space below the "UCI:"at the top of the document is that the file will be processed in Quebec. As far as the federal processing goes, this may be it and now Quebec takes it over and the next step would be the CAQ? That's what I am thinking ... I doubt they would have made a mistake since three of us seem to have similar responses.

Yha maybe.. I will call on Monday and clear it up, as will you I'm sure so we can trade info. Another thing I noticed is the my UCI number is not formatted in the way that I need it to be to access my application status. It's supposed to be XXXX-XXXX according the the website and mine is like one letter and 12 numbers so the format does not work..

Hi again,

Yes, I'll also call up CIC to clarify and will share what I learn. About the UCI number, it is only one letter and then 12 digits after. No formatting. I also cannot access my file yet as I checked to see what The Application Status would say now that I have a file number.

Oh ok.. so that's a normal UCI number? When I clicked on the little question mark to give information of what your UCI number is, it said it is 4 numbers - 4 numbers.. I consider myself a somewhat intelligent person, but I'm not feeling so intelligent..lol

I also have a letter and 12 numbers in UCI. I remember seeing other posts when they complained about not being able to access that link, but after few days they could.
Maybe it's just too early for us, I'm sure it will be OK.

I'll let you know if my husband calls CIC to ask about that inland thing, but now if we are three already, I am pretty confident it wasn't a mistake.

Yet I still need to search about the entire process with Quebec, will the files be forwarded to the visa offices or we must wait for CSQ first or we still get SA or what's the way, I'm unable to find this on forum, even tho it should be somewhere.

Ummmm...So I just received an AOR email, so yesterday was my SA... So odd... I received them backwards.

Welcome saradan,

Generally sponsor approval will come by e-mail if you provided an e-mail address however it has been known for SA to come by mail. Some officers are old school and prefer snail mail to e-mail.

The processing time for sponsor approval varies throughout the year. When I applied in September it was 41 days, and 2 weeks ago it was 90 days. The Christmas holidays and the start of other visa streams in January affected the processing of sponsorship approval but it seems to be leveling out a bit now.

Hey! Thanks! So today I just recieved an email saying that CIC recieved my application 2014/12/22. So this is the AOR and now I have to wait for the SA, right? It came with the UCI and Application numbers as well. What is the next step after this email? And how long approximately does the SA take? Thanks for all your help!
