Hi Em! I'm submitting my papers after my medical next friday! We've had a bit of a mad rush because after I found this forum two weeks ago I decided to change from Inland to Outland. Lots of tiny little differences.

Hi all,

FINALLY just posted off the package to Mississauaga - for me to sponsor my partner.

We are living in the UK and if I am accepted as a sponsor the PR will go through London. Checking on the status of how long the process is currently taking for sponsorship approval: 41 days. I'm assuming two months though to cover off for Christmas break.

That means we should know if his application is to go ahead by February 2015, we're hoping for smooth sailing after that as I am gearing up to get my Canadian business reignited for our arrival in August 2015.

Hi Acecube, I did not see this post until AFTER I had posted our application - is the form substantially different - it doesn't look like it is? How likely is it they will return the submission if the wrong version of the form is used?

I caught the new form on time (btw the only difference is the absence of the box related to the VISA office), but isn't there a grace period or something similar?

We had sent our application in September using the June 2014 form while a new form was issued in August 2014. CIC kept our application but requested the new August 2014 form to be sent also. Our application was deemed to be received on the date the new form was received by them and we had to wait the normal processing time to get SA. The form had a minor change in respect of the dependent. We called CIC very often and luckily we got SA just after 30 days we sent the new form but many had to wait the normal processing time.

I wish you all don't have to go through it as it's very stressful and best of luck with regards to your application.

P.S CIC sent us an email to request the new form.

Hi everyone!

Just sent off our application today! Excited and anxious at the same time. Hopefully everything is in order. DHL people said that the documents should arrive in Mississauga on 11 or 12 Dec. Fingers crossed.

I don't know where it's gonna be processed since they don't ask anymore where you want it to be processed. I'm from Malaysia so technically the CPC is Singapore. We'll see.

Got a notification from Canada Post that my application was successfully delivered to CIC Mississauga yesterday Monday.

By the way...

I just checked and I don't recall filling out the IMM5406E form so it's nowhere in my application at all. Wow. :-[
