We just received passport request! Not too far to go now.

That's great news! I got SA the same day as you so I hope to hear something soon as well! Just wondering when I'll get a re-medical request since it's been over a year already.. How did you receive your passport request, e-mail or regular mail?

Ok, just checked my ECAS five minutes ago and it now shows this:

1. We received your application for permanent residence on December 16, 2014.

2. We started processing your application on April 28, 2015.

3. Medical results have been received.

4. A decision has been made on your application. The office will contact you concerning this decision.

This makes me very excited and nervous at the same time! How will I be contacted? I read somewhere this pretty much means the decision made is a YES? What is the next step? Anyone?

Mississauga, should've been Vienna but was retained in Canada.

Yup, same happened with me... some VO's update whenever they feel like it, some dont update.... so irritating

Thank you all, I also received PPR today through email! Super excited!! It is a little bit confusing to understand what they want right now (not many cases that were being held in Mississauga that were supposed to go to Vienna I assume after reading on this forum), it is a long letter so just trying to figure out what is the best step.

They either ask for a passport copy and some visa photos and height and eye colour being send to Vienna (this being from a visa exempt country, the Netherlands)
Or, as it states in the letter, if ONLY my passport is requested, I could send my passport to Ottawa, I believe this isn't the case because they also want the two visa photos, but still wondering if someone knows?

Just before I heard this update I booked a flight back to Canada for May 9th, should I change this flight and wait out the process in Europe or go to Canada and send the requested things to Ottawa? Or send the copy of my passport and wait for my COPR to be send to Canada or the Netherlands?

Also, this is written in the letter; "Your permanent resident visa will expire on 04/22/2016 (mm/dd/yy). If your passport expires on an earlier date, the visa will expire on the earlier date." Is this a date until which I can enter Canada or it this permanent residency only for one year? Very confusing..

I am sorry for the long story written here, I really do not want to make any mistakes right now! Any help is much appreciated as this forum and thread have been very helpful!

Congratulations on your PPR request! You have a bit of a similar situation to mine. They emailed us on April 10th just asking for me to send in two immigration photos of me, which I did. Then on the 21st I got another email requesting I scan my passport to them (I'm German citizen). Then I received my COPR on the 27th.

I cannot say for sure, but if you receive a similar timeline, you may be cutting your flight a little close.

how come i haven't even seen in process on my online file yet. I applied on december 11 and it is from colombo sri lanka. Why are they so late. it is all high commission from canada. Missisauga receives all country files they are faster but one country files take this long? I am paying tax in canada and I am paying admin fees for the application. Don't I have the right to ask to process it faster. i attached everything with the application. if the police clearance or the medical expire by the time they take my application, what am i supposed to do wait again. why can't they understand other people pain. it is not easy to stay away from your loved one especially husband or wife.

i understand how frustrated you are, i feel as if my file is taking forever too, however, all of us living in canada pay taxes, and we have all paid the fees, and we all have to wait. Its unfortunate that it takes so long tho. Some countries are faster than others.... i wish you all the best.
