CIC has a reason not to respond to our request on the application status unless it goes beyond the listed processing time. I think the fact that we applicants keep calling CIC for an update may interrupt their work and slow down their processing pace. I believe that CIC is on the safe side with this official processing time as practically it takes much shorter. Perhaps they use the extreme cases to ensure applicants don't jump up and down complaining about the delay. So, I agree with you that there is nothing we can do but wait.

Your observation about smoother process with applications before 15 Dec as opposed to those before may not be supported by facts. There is no reason why this happens even though there might be a slight increase in the number of applications sent in right before the cut off. So don't you worry so much. I hope you would get at least your AOR (not PER) anytime soon. :D

Thanks Jeanp I hope so too :-)

Does anyone have any experience with getting your medical done while on a low-carb diet? If so, are there any problems with that or should one just advise the Dr. of the fact?

Your diet is not a concern, as long as you're healthy. Note that some persons here were advised to redo their blood sugar test, due to high blood pressure and high blood sugar. The main purpose of the medicals is to identify health risks that may endanger Canadians and cause undue strain on the Canadian Healthcare system. If your diet hasn't thrown your blood sugar out-of-whack there is no cause for concern.

I know that low-carb can make you have ketones in your urine so that's what I was thinking might be a problem. I guess as long as I let the Dr. know it should be fine.

No need to worry as the considerable ketone bodies will form only if you are on no carb diet rather than low carb diet....

Hi everyone!
A quick question regarding police clearance certificate.
How many of clearance certificates do you need for one country. I mean if I've stayed 4 years in one city, 2 Years in one city and 11 years in another city. Do I have to get 3 certificates from all 3 cities or only one (which is the city of my origin) ?
Your reply will help a lot.

Regards.

I am eating pretty low carb. I don't actually count them but I have been avoiding bread and starches. If i had to guess id say i eat no more than 50-75g of carbs a day. Only eating meats and lower carb veggies. I checked with urine strips and I am showing ketones. It isn't a super high level but the strip does change colors to indicate presence. If I inform the doc it shouldn't be a problem, right? That way they know the cause If they see it and don't think it is something else causing it.

It's only your feeling, mate. Take a look at the spreadsheet and you'll see that your case is normal. There are loads of applications slower than yours. Be calm! 8)
