Guys, The average time for getting the MR nowadays is in the range from 3.5 to 4.5 months. I know guys that are waiting for 120 days and still didn't get their MR yet.The process seems to be slowed down for unknown factors. This happens not in a particular VO but seems to be a trend in many other VOs. We need to be patient and wait . I can understand the waiting can be frustrating but I personally prefer holding my breath a little longer and getting good news than waiting less and getting a negative result. Hope all of us get the MR with thumps up.
From your observation, waiting time of 3.5-4.5 months for MR from SLU, AOR, PER or application receipt? If it's from SLU or AOR, from the spreadsheet data that I read, those should be extreme cases, not common.

The time frame (3.5-4.5 months) is from PER to MR, where your application enters what I call the "silent stage" No feed back from CIC and you don't know whats going to happen next (Am I going to be rejected? or I will pass?) As everybody knows at this stage the Immigration officer does a deeper investigation on your documents which takes some time to do so, not mentioning the backlog that he has to deal with, but once he is satisfied, your application goes to another stage which is more faster plus the rejection cases are now very narrow and rare. So In my opinion the biggest and longest hurdle in the entire process is the background check which most of us are living through. Its a game of patience so we need to wait and hope for the best.

Well Said Kerdek.

I could not agree more. Although a part of my mind is planning ahead but the other keeps me grounded with the fact that it could be long time before anything substantiates. So lets all wait and chat with each other

Hi Everyone!
I'm really new here!!
My time line:
App filed: 12th December 2014
PER: 4 March 2015
I had no news from that until yesterday.
I am from Cuba but yesterday I got AOR from Mexico visa office together with MR.
I have a question, hope someone here could give me some advise. I'm not in my country at the moment and I was planning to come back in a month or two.
So, I wonder if I could do Medical's here where I'm currently or do I have to do it in my country or residence?

TIA

What you explain makes sense. No doubt the indepth investigation in the most important step of all. Of course, if we were in their shoes we wouldn't rush either. So, all we need now is patience.

I guess you are write I got my PER on the 5th of March and there have been no news since then.. It is super frustrating but I guess there is nothing much that we can do except anxiously wait. I think most of the earlier december applicants have sailed smoothly and They suddenly seem to have started taking long from Mid December applicants onwards. I called CIC call center twice today and both the agents said that their process has changed a few weeks back they no longer can check the status of our files unless we are past the current processing time of 18 months.I was told that the current processing time / delay for FSW 2014 applicants is 18 months and we will not be able to get an update our status from the call center unless the 18 months processing time has lapsed .... Duh !!

CIC has a reason not to respond to our request on the application status unless it goes beyond the listed processing time. I think the fact that we applicants keep calling CIC for an update may interrupt their work and slow down their processing pace. I believe that CIC is on the safe side with this official processing time as practically it takes much shorter. Perhaps they use the extreme cases to ensure applicants don't jump up and down complaining about the delay. So, I agree with you that there is nothing we can do but wait.

Your observation about smoother process with applications before 15 Dec as opposed to those before may not be supported by facts. There is no reason why this happens even though there might be a slight increase in the number of applications sent in right before the cut off. So don't you worry so much. I hope you would get at least your AOR (not PER) anytime soon. :D
