Guys, I think game end for 2172. No charge after 10 dec.

HI GUYZ,

YESTERDAY MY CC GOT CHARGED AND THE AFTER 30 MINUTES OF MY CHARGING I RECEIVED A CALL FROM (+856... COUNTRY CODE = LAOS) SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE FROM CIC NOVA SCOTIA. THIS GUY HAD A SOUTH ASIAN ACCENT BUT DEFINITELY NOT INDIAN OR PAKI!
HE TOLD ME THAT THEY INTENDED TO CHARGE SOMEONE ELSE BUT I WAS ACCIDENTALLY CHARGED AND MY AMOUNT WILL BE REFUNDED SOON AND IN THE MEAN WHILE MY APPLICATION WILL BE REVIVED AGAIN. THAT IS WHEN I GOT SUSPICIOUS AND PRETENDED THAT IT WAS MY BAD LUCK. STRANGE, THAT HE DIDNT ASK FOR ANY CC INFORMATION THOUGH, MAY BE THEY ARE PLANNING TO CALL ME AGAIN FOR SOMETHING ELSE.

IN EXCITEMENT I HAD SHARED THE CHARGING NEWS WITH MY WATSAPP GROUP MEMBERS AND LOOKS LIKE THERE IS SOMEONE PRYING ON OUR CRITICAL PERSONAL INFORMATION. I REQUEST YOU ALL, NOT TO SHARE YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS AND ANY OTHER DETAILS WITH WHO SO EVER CLAIMING TO BE FROM CIC.

I JUST WANT TO ASK WHETHER THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH SOMEONE ELSE OR IS IT REALLY CIC?

I doubt the call would have been routed in such a way to display +856 number by accident.
It is someone pretty smart about fraud - getting personal details (relatively easily), and then trying to get a CC details of someone who really expects anything from CIC..

Be really careful, I dont believe CIC would call to get a "correct" CC number...

I disagree, until I see EVERYONE until 10.12 confirming they have been charged, I intend to look at it as disorganized work by CIC, and not full cap.

Here are some who have not yet confirmed being charged:

Even I don't agree as my friend was charged for $550 and his NOC is 2172 and he is DECEMBER 15TH applicant. I posted this multiple times as well on the form, so that our other forumites who are waiting eagerly should feel a bit relax.

Got my CC statement for Jan today..
App category 2172.
App recvd date 22nd Dec
CC Charge date 30 Jan.

Hoping to get PER soon.

Will update spreadsheet shortly.
