Just letting you know that about 3 weeks ago I called CIC and they told me that the consider the date that the application is sent, and not the received date. Of course this may be inaccurate or even wrong, but I just thought I should mention it.

that's great news. CIO received mine January 5, 2015 though I sent it December 22.
