My app receive date is 10-Dec NOC 2172. Mode of payment is DD via Citi Bank India
I had raised a query with them on Jan 31st about the DD status to which they responses today saying DD is not enchashed. Not sure if they are reporting status on on 31st Jan or on Date :)
I called Citi bank call Center initially they were telling they cannot get dd status.....but later agreed on a timeline of 4 working days to get me this info....omg...these banks.....I guess it makes sense to wait for PER rather than wasting time on knowing dd status....which looks almost impossible to know

No, Excel can do those statistics, I just dont know how to manipulate the pivots to get the count of applicants by day...
Again, it's very simple. Just navigate to the worksheet named "NOC by Recvd. Date".
On windows, hold down "ctr" button and press "pg dn" button until you reach the worksheet - it is the 12th worksheet.
What you require is right there.

Happy to be of further help.

How can I make graph showing me visually the number of requests per day?
I want to make such graph for 2172, 2171, 2173 and 2174.
This will help comparing the submission rate until cap reached on 4, 3 and 1 to 2, and perhaps help "get a feeling" how likely it is that 2172 reaches cap some day in Dec.

So far I can see that those that reached cap in Sep-Oct have ~420 applications on file in average, while 2172 has ~250, so it "should have" 4 months of breath time before being cap filled, but to validate this theory, I need to see in a graph, whether the daily rate for 2172 has spiked in the months Oct-Dec.

Plot a Graph with Dates on the horizontal axis and No of applications received on the vertical axis. You can do this for all 4 NOC together or seperately.

In Excel 2013, select the columns that contain the Dates and the NOC(s) (do not select the total Row)
Go to the Insert tab on excel, on the chart menu click 'insert column chart' and choose 2-D clustered column
You should get your chart.

I will recommend you do for each of the 4 NOCs you mentioned seperately so you have a more legible chart.

Good luck!

Ok, I manually calculated those averages for each month for 2172:
May June July Aug Sep Oct Nov Dec
1.1 1.2 0.68 0.45 0.61 1.22 2.21 4.62

Then easily created the graph:
http://screencast.com/t/YXElBsiq

We can see there is a very strong spike in last 3 months :-X
I suppose it is possible that our data is incomplete much more than we thought, and CAP will be reached.. but we don't really know for sure, and cant really do anything about it.
What we do know:
  • SS has ~136 apps up to Oct 19, while CIC declared ~319 - this suggests 1/3 ratio approximately
  • SS has total of ~250, so if ratio is 1:3 we are all safe, if it is 1:4 we should still be Ok (mostly).

Could the ratio for 2172 be worse than 1:4?
