Determination — number of invitations

1. (1) For the purposes of paragraph 10.2(1)(b) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, the number of invitations that may be issued during the period beginning on January 31, 2015 and ending on February 1, 2015 is 779.

(2) Foreign nationals who, on January 31, 2015 at 11:59:48 UTC, have been assigned a total of 886 points or more under the Comprehensive Ranking System that is set out in the Ministerial Instructions Respecting the Express Entry System, as published in the Canada Gazette, Part I, on December 1, 2014 and as amended from time to time, occupy the rank required to be invited to make an application for permanent residence.

my application under CEC was submitted on 22nd DEC 2014. Hope all files are considered in the process. Some say after communicating to CIC they say wait for 10 weeks. some say some got reply saying overall CAP has been reached. Some say its just a rumour.

Really a tensed situation. Somewhere there is a positivity that they would accept it because CIC website from december itself stopped showing Overall cap Received Page. What i am feeling is they gona accept each and everyone application till 30th DEC. Only if there is some errors in file submission or some mistake in documents they gona send it back.

I really hope for best for all december applicants. Plzz keep updated guyss on this page

Its surprising that for couple of people application is returned a week back, but no communication to you. Worrying part is that no CC charged in last 1 week.

I guess they are working on express entry applications. they might process old rules submissions slowly from now onwards.. they dont want to make backlogs for express entry cases

hey guys i just called the call centre and the agent confirmed that the cap has been reached as of oct 20th. she was very confident and she said that they received the internal notification about this on Jan 29th.

It's been confirmed via many sources (including individuals who work in the immigration field) that the cap was reached in October.

Likewise, I asked the call center agent what his source as, he advised it was a direct email from the processing center.

All applicants after October 20th will likely be rejected.

Good afternoon all. I am a november applicant. My application reached sydney on november 18, they stamped it as received but unfortunately I just got back home to find all of my application papers returned along with the dreaded notification stating that the global cap has been reached. I created my express entry just in case a week before however it is very worrying after looking at the necessary threshold of points required to make the invitation list. Guys,
I just got call from my MP. he confirmed that applications are returned the reasons are :
1) People don't want to go through Express entry, so they send there applications with premature experience.
2) Those who are getting applications back may have the premature experience.
3) Those with proper Experience even if they filled in November or December, There is still hope that there applications will not be returned.
So Don't Panic Where there is will there is way.
