Im glad you created this in advance. I may apply this December. Still not sure whether the CELPIP General-LS is acceptable or not. I just checked cic website and what they stated is not clear to me: "Test results from the following list are acceptable:Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program General Test (CELPIP-G), not the academic version or the CELPIP-General LS two-skill (listening and speaking) version of the CELPIP general test. For tests taken after April 1, 2014, you must have achieved a score of level 4 or higher (up to 12) in listening and speaking."

As per Toronto Star the new rules will be active by next June. So those who are eligible by April/May 2015 will still be good under the old scheme of three years.

Residents urged to apply for Canadian citizenship to avoid hurdles on horizon : By: Nicholas Keung Immigration reporter, Published on Mon Aug 04 2014

The changes require that permanent residents be physically present in the country for longer than before, in order to gain citizenship. Under the old rules, permanent residents had to be living in Canada for three out of four years. Now, they must be physically present for at least 183 days during four out of six years before their application.

In fact, some of the most controversial changes — requiring citizenship applicants to be present in Canada for four years out of six (rather than three years out of four), and raising the age of exemption from language and citizenship tests to 65, from 55 — won’t come into force until next June, immigration officials confirmed to the Star.
