Congratulations to all who have received their visas!! ;D ;) :) :D

Our status changed to "In Process" today! They started processing it on August 6th. Finally! :P

Patience, one of my fellow remaining Ottawa applicants, any news on your end? How did that paperwork go?

Our File transferred to LA on june 26th, since then no word on anything. Still dont know the reason of transfer or maybe it is a normal thing. Also I should be recieving my GCMS notes by mid august

A quick update.

I landed on the 5th of August and have to say the process was very simple. We were very lucky with the time of our flight as there was nobody else in the the line at Toronto airport immigration. It probably took all of 15 minutes start to finish.

Myself and my wife were taken into a cubical where my PR was activated and my status was changed to landed. Very few questions just a few quick ones like the date we got married our previous address and the address we were taking up residency in, then into another cubical where I was issued my SIN. After collecting our bags we were directed into customs to declare goods following this was the only part of the process that held us up as there are a couple of forms that need filled out in duplicate and we were done, straight into Timmies for a coffee and box of tim bits to wait for the bus.

Any advice I could give for anyone landing at a busy port like Pearson is be prepared and make it as easy as possible for the immigration and customs folks it will make the process so much easier for everybody. Be prepared to wait for at least 45-60 mins if you are booking transport as the immigration guy who took us said we were lucky and just missed 2 flights arriving and they were going non stop for an hour.

Good luck with your interview, adirai. At least you're not in the dark about it. And I hope you get to enjoy a mini-holiday in LA while you're there!

After 8 months, our ECAS finally turned to Decision Made this morning! I am beyond relieved. Now to plan out all the landing stuff and figure out the whole car importation ordeal. Thank you all who have helped me from our December group! Good luck to all those still waiting! There is no way to describe this feeling!

Received my COPR in the mail August 6.
Landed: August 10!

Feels so relieving and such an answer to prayer to be done. Landing was super easy and quick, landed at border south of winnipeg. Took maybe 15 minutes inside, asked a few questions and then shook my hand welcoming me to canada and have me a canadian flag!

I am an American married to a canadian. and landed this past Sunday and have a COPR. My husband and I had already had a 3 week asia trip planned months ago before I found out I was approved for PR that we leave for in 2 weeks and won't get my PR card in time. Now I am reading I can't get back in the country with my COPR and have to apply for a travel document while I'm over there otherwises won't be able to get back into canada. Does anybody know if this applies to Americans as well because we are a visa exempt country and I have always been allowed into canada? Thanks for your help. I thought with my American passport id be fine
