Hi everyone.. October 2013 applicant ako under spousal/ family class. I'm just wondering if may nag change na sa status ng ECAS niyo? With ours, it's still application received. I can't help but wonder about what's wrong with our application at bakit hindi pa sumasagot ang CEM ng either AOR received or in process.

Hi rainjohnny! :) my ECAS status was updated.i now have a 2nd update when you click on the permanent resident application received status, it says there that my medical results have been received. Have you tried checking your email? Sometimes they skip updates. My husband's status in the ecas did not change from application received instead, from apps received , it changed to decision made.

We got the AOR on Jan 8th but still not be able to check our application status online...anyone else experiences this? kind of worry...

I have the same problem. Got AOR and SA on January 8, but can't access ECAS. Have tried several times a day. I will wait till next week, if it still doesn't work, I'm thinking of calling CIC.

Hi. I have a question. In case of child birth, how do we go about our application? Contact our VO? Do we have submit anything? Or pay anything?

This depends on a couple of things:

- Is the sponsor a Canadian citizen by birth or naturalized Canadian? - In this case, the child becomes automatically a Canadian citizen. You will need to apply for a Proof of Citizenship for the child in order for him/her to travel to Canada. I heard many people getting only a temporary passport for the child (it's faster). More info here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizenship/proof-eligibility.asp

- Is the sponsor a PR or born outside of Canada and obtained Canadian citizenship through a parent? - In this case the child need to be included in the application as a sponsored person. This will delay the application, because a lot of the forms need to be updated.

In both cases, you need to contact the VO. In the first case, you send them the proof of citizenship. In the second case, the VO will notify you of what documents you need to provide and what forms you need to re-fill.

Take a look at this thread too: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/question-about-citizenship-rights-t171554.0.html;msg2688845#msg2688845

Hi Avadava,

Thanks for the response. My husband is a PR. We just want to know what our next step should be.. So that means there is a possibility that my 14 months could translate to possibly 20? Oh no.

If your husband is a PR, then the child needs to be included in your application (sponsored by your husband). The waiting time will be considerably longer, because your file will be put on hold until the child is born. Basically, once the child is born, you will have re-fill a lot of the forms and they will take it as a completely new application. You might lose more than 6 months with this.

I also heard of this case, where they returned the application to the sponsor and were asked to reapply after the child was born.

Avadava, we both heard from CIC on Jan 8th and I was able to log-in today. Nothing is there but my (sponsor) name, but it finally worked for me.

Thanks for the info. I went to check again after reading your message, but it's still the same. I will wait for another week and then call CIC.

I am new in this forum.

Here is my timeline :

Visa office : Singapore.

Application for spousal immigration recieved by CIC Missi : Dec 05, 2013.

AOR recived : Jan 01, 2014.

ESCAS changed to Decision Made with a comments that a written decison sent to me : Jan 08, 2014, 11-00 pm pacific time.

ESCAS added to Sponsored person as Medical Report received: Jan 11, 2014, at 11-00 pm Pacific time.

Does it mean SA approved and file is in Singapore VO as there is update in ESCAS that Medical Report recieved ?

Hi Shaw and welcome to the forum.

The note from January 8 says that a written decision was sent to you. Did you provide an email address? How were you informed about the AOR on January 1?

Medical Report received means they've matched your file number with the Medical Report number in their system.

If you provided an email address, you should check it again, maybe try your spam folder, because it means they made a decision on your Sponsorship and they sent it to you. If you didn't provide an email address, the decision will arrive by snail mail.

Yes I provided CIC my email and they sent the AOR by email. There is no email in my junk folder from CIC about SA. My logic is if they did not approve my Sponsorship then they would not proceed to update Medical report received. It means my sponsorship is approved and file may be the way to singapore.

I can't tell what's wrong then. Looks like they've already sent you a decision on the sponsorship part. Is it's not by email, then they must have sent it by regular mail, but it makes no sense.
The only thing I can think of is that this letter contains a refusal. But then again, why did they update the medical 3 days later?
Like I said, I have no idea about what's going on. Maybe you can try to ask in the open forums, give more info about your application and the senior members might have an answer for you.
