Thanks for the heads up, princessice.

I hope everyone gets good news before New year. :) Good luck to us!

Hi millertimez, please include me in the spreadsheet. I also would like to help, if you need a hand in keeping track. :)

This is what it says too on the email that my husband received. It also said "Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing." Do you know if it will also show on ECAS or would the status change if my visa office has already received my application?
I believe it will change. However, others say that they do not update the ecas in real time. Some see updates after a few weeks or a few days from the time they receive their AORs or the SA-sponsorship approval. An example is my ECA, it's still stuck to APPLICATION RECEIVED status. ;)

Hello everyone.. I am a new applicant and just got my documents ready. Which is the safest way to send the application and be sure that they receive it?

I read that some opt to send it via a private courier rather than canada post. for me, I sent my application to my husband first then, he was the one who sent it to the Missassauga office.

When you sponsor your spouse, what are the types of fees and the total amount of fees that need to be paid?

Sponsorship application (per application) $75
Principal applicant $475
Getting your permanent resident status $490

As for the last fee, the RPRF, you have an option to pay this at a later time, when your VO requests you to do so. But, it is advisable to settle/pay everything upon application so as not to delay the whole process. Upon reading the forums, after your VO requests you to pay, it can take as long as up to 2 months before you could get to the next step.
