Hi everyone,

I passed the test this morning in Ottawa, the interview with the cic officer took place before the test and was about 4 min long, she cheeked my passports and asked me where I work. Before the test we were all told that the people who pass the test, will get the invitation to the oath ceremony within 3 to 6 months. Does anyone here from Ottawa have any updates ?

Congratulations, Cadbury74. I had mine two days before you. My experience is similar to yours. However, the test administrator said that the oath letter will be sent within 1-3 months, with possible delay for up to 6 months.

Last update I get is the file has been transferred to the local office in Nov 2013. Nothing since.

Hello Everyone,
Just wanted a quick clarification,

My processing office is Calgary. I have seen instances where the app was sent in June/July 2012 and started processing in Jan 2013.
They have received their test call for Feb/Mar 2014.

In my case I sent in the app in Jan 2013 and started to process in Mar 2013. No response yet.

My question is in the first instance the file was sent and then began processing 6 months after it was received.
2nd instance File was sent and then began processing 2 months after it was received.

If all is smooth and the file has been transferred to the local office in November 2013, does it mean that I should receive my call in March 2014 as well?
And why is there a 2 month and a 6 month difference between receiving and starting to process the file ?

Please advice.

Processing delays are subject to several factors. The local office is just one of them.

My file took over a year to get transferred to the local office. I had my test with applicants who applied 6 months after me. However, it took approximately between two and three months between the file transfer and the test invitation.

I read somewhere that Calgary is somewhat slow, or maybe your file is under additional verification (if I guess it right from your username I believe you had lived in Dubai in the past).

Finished my test at St. Claire on February 24th, 2014. Waiting for oath letter.

Yes I lived in Dubai before.

Also I was under the impression that all the verification are done at the federal office i.e. background checks etc.
Once its transferred to the local office then all that we are waiting for is the test date ?
Am I right ?

Is there no people here from the Calgary region with around the same timeline?

It looks like that the Calgary office has a good backlog.

In addition, local offices can conduct additional verifications if they want so, specially when it comes to residency concerns.

You may want to look for other timeline threads since you are the only Calgarian applicant so far in our timeline table.

Its such a mix of applicants in and around these forums. Looking at some applications it seems like the test date will be in March and then some applications make it seem like it will be in June.

Waiting is the only option.

Hi

Anyone who wrote the test in Feb 2014 at St. Claire got the oath? the ones whose application processing started in Jan 2013? I had an RQ and my home office seems to be in scarborough.

I got the RQ and was invited on Apr 17 and had the test in St Clair center today. I pass the test with 20/20. The CIC interview me for about 10~15 minutes. asked me to wait for the judge or oath letter. she told me that it could take 4 months. just wait at this moment. I applied in Calgary. and moved to Mississauga and received the RQ , the case transfer to St clair for the test. All I do is just to wait.
