Hi aba_bab,

Do we have to confirm from Detroit office before going there in person ???

I sent an e-mail to Detroit CIC, but haven't heard anything back from them. Bur, I am taking the print of this link.

http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/detroit/visas/apply-how_a_demande-comment.aspx?lang=eng&view=d#mailing

"If you applied for permanent residence in Canada and you have received a notification from our office, the Case Processing Pilot Office in Ottawa or the Canadian Consulate General in Buffalo requesting you to submit your passport(s) to our office you may do so in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 8:30 – 11:00 am. Your passport(s) may be returned to you the same day. You must bring the notification with you."

How do I request a GCMS for my application. Do I have to pay for it. I am based in Canada and do I need to send any photo ID wIth it.

Hopefully you should receive one before you head over there. I mean it was just the security at the desk being extremely difficult to deal with, I guess its just Americans being Americans. I mean my girlfriend who was going on my behalf, is a Canadian Citizen, how on earth can you prevent a citizen from accessing her own embassy.. but yes, if you haven't received a response yet, I would print out the page where it says we can do a walk-in for request from CPP Ottawa and Detroit.

Minta7, you don't need a personal invite from Detroit, as its a drop in service. Its just helpful if you have an email from them confirming the walk-in, or print out the page from the link above, and show it to them if they give you a hard time accessing the embassy.

Lilly don't worry, any day now you'll be getting yours!

Hey Nic,
I'm in the same boat as you - app received 22nd Dec, PPR June 19th and I'm also from the UK. When you say you sent a copy of the whole passport, did you photocopy every page? I just sent the photo page...I couldn't see why they'd want a copy of all the blank pages....but I could be very wrong.

I think we should have it back within the next 2weeks.

Hi CEC_Aidan,
Any news your end? Any changes on ECAS? Mine is still the same and no news as yet. They would've received my pp copy and RPRF on the 22nd June. Just checking in with ya!
Cheers :)

:D finally got PPR................

Hey Nic,
No news yet. I emailed both Ottawa and Detroit asking was it ok that I just mailed them a copy of the photograph page of my passport (not a copy of every page) - Ottawa replied "The photograph page should suffice. The Detroit office will communicate, should further information be required," then Detroit replied "Your copy of the biodata page will do." So I'm not worried about that any more.

My ecas hasn't changed since they received my medicals - it still says "In Progress."

They received mine via fedex on 25th June.

Lily - congrats!

Hi Aidan, Ok cool - sounds good - glad you heard back from them. Hopefully this week something will change on Ecas or we'll get our letter!

Congrats Lily!!

Congrads lilly!

Guys, don't pay too much heed to Ecas, best is just to keep checking when you online envelope comes online. Its been two weeks since I landed, and my ecas still shows In Process.
