Hi IRENZ :)

21 days from the date of application transfer to VO, to VISA issue, that's spectacular! Record time! Congratulations!!!
I've been following your progress on your profile... I am also applying in Sydney. I was wondering what date your passport was requested. Did you receive the request by mail or email?

I hope to be celebrating along with you soon. :) :) :)

Hey Firefly! I cant believe how fast it has been but I'm delighted that its all sorted!! I didnt get a passport request as I'm from a visa exempt country, they do not require your passport anymore, they will just issue a COPR. Some people are requested to send a photocopy of every page of the passport so we just sent it in anyway when the file was received in Sydney so maybe thats why it was so quick! It seems like the sydney VO is very efficient but maybe they dont get as many applications as other VO's!

I've just booked flights so will be landing in July!

Hi all,

I have submitted my file on 9th dec 2011 and transfered my file to buffalo NY VO on 2nd feb 2012. I submitted FBI police clearance on 1st march. Now I have submitted all my docs and the file is complete now.

Does any one know how much time it takes for Passport request?

Please adivse

Hi Jenny parsely, it's case by case. You can refer to the Buffalo spreadsheet for a rough idea.

Hi Irenz! :)
Yay July!!!
That is wonderful news. I had no idea about that exemption rule. I just looked it upand my citizenship is also visitor visa exempt! LOL, I've had my passport in an international priority fed ex envelope awaiting PPR this whole time. COPR - thank you for that info!

Hi guys! I got my passport request today :) it is actually dated Feb 24 though, but they did not send it until I got my Quebec Certificate approved.

Who is handling the spreadsheet? We need to update on things

Great news! did u received your PPR by email or regular mail? my wife got her CSQ approved last week so im hoping that she will receive PPR soon :)

Congratulations CanadiansWife!

I got my COPR today, dated March 5th. Didn't get a PPR at all!

We plan to drive over the Canada-Buffo border tomorrow so I can 'land' :)

Congrats, congrats. Seems like last week was a productive week...hope to see this trend continue.

@kiwicanuck-did you not receive a ppr request because Sydney is visa exempt?

That's such wonderful news kiwicanuck!
I am guessing you are also an NZ citizen living in Canada with your spouse while your application was being processed? (me too!) I am a couple weeks behind you I think. Did you include photocopies of all the pages in your passport? I hope I have your speedy luck! Hooray for you guys! This really lifts my spirits. :D

I have a feeling that my hubby and I are going to receive an update next week. Lol! My instinct is telling me. :D

@dadem- well I find the Manilla office to be very quick, looks like people get through in 4 months or less well that has been the trend that I've seen since on the forum. So good luck!

Thank you. The Manila Visa Office has been consistently giving us updates every two weeks (in my case). My hubby's passport has been there for a week now so I am hoping for an update next week either on e-cas or courier. :) good luck on your application as well.:)

@ lovehasnoboundaries - i assume so! although others in the sydney thread have been asked to supply a photocopy of all the pages in their passport, not sure why i didn't have to do that.

@ FIREFLY - no, i didn't include photocopies in my application. only the photo page as we are requested to :)

Perhaps they are streamlining the process more and more each day, thus all the variation.

Hopefully so. I definitely think there needs to be some adjusting regarding processing of applications. I mean, I don't work for immigration but I keep wondering does it really have to take that long? My husband is in Jamaica and CIC website gives an estimated 16 months for processing. Many get through before that time but I'm hoping that their quarterly update will reflect a more realistic processing time for all countries. The quartlery update is due sometime this month.
