You need a PCC from your home country or any country where you've lived for a cumulative of 6 months since the age of 18.

You do not need a Canadian PCC.

Debit visa will definitely work.

Sometimes you have to activate your debit visa for online use. Just make sure that's done.

The whole purpose of these debit visa cards is to work where credit cards work.

I work for one of the Big 5 Canadian Banks in a retail environment - I know for a fact that CIBC Visa Debit didn't work for a client on CIC (not sure what they were paying for though).

Also, Visa Debit is not the same as a regular Visa - the merchant has to work it with their payment processor to accept Visa Debit.
I also know for a fact that with regards to the bank I work for, there is no "online activation" required to enable the Visa Debit functionality.

I also found out just today from another client that they used CIBC's Prepaid Visa for a CIC Payment so perhaps this is an option for people who don't have access to traditional credit cards due to poor/limited credit history?

Application submitted and e-AOR received.

By the way...I paid with my RBC Visa Debit card. Had no issues and the money has already been drafted from my checking account.

Usually you get the AOR confirmation within minutes of paying the fee(s). Or if you're referring to the speed in which I submitted it, it's my second time around.

That's what I'm thinking. I use my Visa Debit for everything that indicates credit. Maybe it's a USA thing.

yeah... while I don't use Visa Debit any more for Credit purchases, I used to have a very hard time purchasing stuff online when I was in university and didn't have a credit card

question e-AOR is something you get after paying for application or something ?

I thought AOR is when you fill all the details in forms post ITA and then pay fees, my assumption was you got ITA today and seeing the details required to fill those forms I am amazed if you have completed that in one day.

Or since I am assuming many things here probably one of the assumption is not right.
