I applied oct 2020 to new visitor visa for my son and for me, i did not received answer.

Both with Valid USA Visa
Both with Expired Canada Visa

Reapplied GC key on Dec 10, 2021
BIL letter Dec 11, 2021
Biometrics Dec 14, 2021
Medical ( medical exams are not needed )
BVL Jan 28, 2022

Reapplied GC key on Dec 10, 2021
Biometrics previously completed
Medical ( medical exams are not needed )
BVL Jan 28, 2022 ( confirming validity biometrics )

After BVL no update.

Just so you are aware, there is no such thing as renewing a visa. You are applying for new visas. How old is your son? When were you last in Canada?

I think you need to send a web form. BVL means a decision has been made .

Today Received PPR, for me and my son
