Please help.
Principal applicant passed away recently who applied during 2006 and preparing to move to Canada.
He is survived by his widow and only son of 18 months. His widow has Master`s with 17 years study, worked as Commercial Manager in a Japanese owned co. It is hard for her to live in the country so prefers to move to Canada with only son.
What options she is having?

Very sad to hear the demise of PA. Have they undergone medical examination before PA's death?

Comparing similar situation handled by CIC, I would say that because of the husband passed away, his spouse should immediately inform the visa office about the incident attaching a copy of his death certificate. She must inform the VO that she would like to immigrate to Canada with her child, and therefore, what is next. In the mean time, she can go ahead and prepare an updated application form IMM 0008 and IMM 5406. Most probably her application will be considered as principal applicant with accompanying child, without paying any more fee.
